Maybe I'm out of my mind, but a small detail I notice between Speed and some of the TOP tier Terran players is how he sieges his tanks. He sieged the whole group at once, meaning the Protoss had a much easier time dropping Reavers between their shots. I feel like better Terran players will stagger the siege mode command by even a half second between smaller groups of tanks.

The tanks also all shoot at the same unit when you siege them at the same time unless you target them manually on different units. They dont have smart AI stopping them from doing overkill like in SC2. Staggering the sieges out a bit prevents that as well.

Hi Artosis 👋 ❤️ you and the analysis, only qualms I have are: 1. Overly preferential slant in thoughts towards Terran. I get you play Terran and such so do I yet I would be pleased somehow with just a tad less 'playing favorites'. 2. You cover the events as such with how they ought to have been handled to pan out best from players 'x' division. Would be nice to briefly rattle out the options/make note of each fork in the road. In other words you cover 'execution of their strategy' by the players near exclusively wish alternative strategies and their feasibility were give mention more. Basically, as an example need you always asking in analysis if/when ghosts could've been advantageous for Terran :P

@@asl2g4u hi... im was called actually 2nd best terran of estonia :D... but im not active now in triathlon.. no racing, just jogs, swims, small bike commutes.. i did many 70.3-s 5-7 years ago, and other triathlons 2xmarathon etc. but no strava now real data to show now.. keeping an eye on the world scene now still, and all the racing, IM, t100, and olympic tri/world triathlon. Starcraft is cool.

Looking at Speed's minerals and gas, he had the resources for siege mode at the 6:20 mark. Did he just forget siege mode with this push? It was suuuuper late! I think the whole game would've gone completely different if he had got siege mode in time for his push to be able to siege up at that choke by the protoss 3rd. Force a cancel on the nexus while constantly making units at home. Then make a command center as you retreat. Thoughts anyone?

@@Zagorsek He did have a third factory without an addon and a pile of resources though. It seems to me like this timing push could be tweaked to get siege mode faster. You lose 25 seconds of build time which works out to 1.3 vultures, not a big difference if you're going to be setting up in that choke by the 3rd and you're careful at using your vultures just to lay mines outside the protoss natural in order to delay the goons from flanking your army

If terran wants to push like in this match would it be better to get seige mode and mines before vulture speed? Leap frog the tanks, while the vultures keep moving near the front as the tanks take turns seiging. Would that have been a better way to try push? Anyway keep up casts Arty, and i'll keep enjoying them.

lol did u open with a Theory impression? nice analysis I totally agree that was a botched engage going straight for the nat. here's a consideration: he mistimed his screen switch to macro during the engage and drifted in too deep then missed seeing the reinforcing goons and all his vults melted. 8 goons is important number for tanks, but need to remember 6 is for vults. especially unsupported disjointed attacks. Just like sieging mid battle, I hate laying mines mid battle, with the caveat that youve surrounded the targets and can magic box the mines down. just too many free hits on the vultsto place and run when VULTs are outnumbered. I hate the thin turrets, 1 cannot kill shuttles, fast enough. If you're not building the whole turret net, dont bother, just anti dt placement.1 is only good the zoning out an obs, or a mishandled slow shuttle.. see flash's first games vs bisu on citadel for healthy turret layouts. wraith is better defense for shoddy turrets.
