The pep talk at the beginning really helped me. ❤ I finally dusted off the sewing machine 7 YEARS after having my fourth child and had to have a Come to Jesus talk with myself about my measurements. Part of me was so desperate to fudge the sizing like when buying clothing. But my rational brain was adamant that IT DOESN’T MATTER! My size is my size and the whole point is to build clothing that fits ME. I’m a grown woman with a grown daughter - she has no body issues at all, except perhaps a desire to gain a little muscle weight to qualify for the Air Force (I can’t relate 😂) I need to be a good example for her and for my other kids. So I’m sucking it up - but not sucking it in! - and using my real measurements like a big girl. Thanks for the encouragement! ❤❤❤

As a naturally short waisted lady, I loved hearing that your patterns are drafted short waisted. That’s a little less work for me. I will soon try the Calder Pants pattern & will definitely make a muslin first. I have actual unbleached muslin at home for that purpose. I bought the Calder pattern online from the Joann Store. I based my decision on my “B tummy” after watching another one of your videos. Thanks for a great video, Jenny.

Great deal of useful information, thank you for this webinar. I wish many more newer sewists can find this info and learn. Also, shorter clips to be presented as a series would be appreciated. I would prefer if the participants do not appear on the Zoom screen, but participate with their questions, because moving people distract me. One suggestion: If you show some garments (on a dress form) during the video it would be lovely to watch.

I have the same shape as you and I struggle. Twenty years ago and I was taught by a book and I not sure if I'm good enough to sew a beautiful garment. 😢
