I feel like people could in theory exploit that. If the spawned creatures level matches the level of the Dreadmare Altar, then that would be 3 Free Level 150 creatures. If you build a good enough trap around it and get 3 giga heart requests, that 3 free level 150 gigas ripe for the taking. Well that's assuming the spawned creatures are tameable to begin with.

I just tamed one of these DreadManes, I threw out my carcha, killed it, waited for the timer to go down, it spawned a titanaboba I killed that then claimed my Dreadmane. The only reason to care about giving it tributes if you're concerned about taming effectiveness if not then just use a powerful dino to kill it. Job done.

this creature is perfect for scouting tames for your boss killers. as their movements are sick and speed is awesome, they can scare the local predators away without harming your unconcious dinos. but its super weak so that is kinda negative. the altar requiring alpha items is a bummer honestly this would be a perfect mid-game tame for ragnarok.

I've got to say, I love how reasonable this creature is, it's really good, but it's not that strong, especially considering just how difficult it is going to be to tame one of these guys. I think their pocket dimension ability is actually going to be their strongest one since you can just drop out a giga, but even that seems somewhat balanced, I did the math and on a max level you'd need 35 levels in weight to hit that 950 cap, at least for the one Syntac tamed and that's getting to the point where levels are going to start slowing down, so if you want a combat focused one with high health and high melee you might have trouble getting that weight as high as it needs to be. I'm actually Really a big fan of this creature, definitely had allot more thought put into it than the pyromane, the only thing I don't like about it is that it still spawns in even if you haven't bought the DLC, I wish that wasn't a thing Also I was going to suggest intentionally failing rare tribute items to abuse the mechanic but I just learned you can't tame the spawned dinos, I thought you were going to be able to spawn in a max level giga to tame 😢They don't even drop their tribute items it seems so you can't even do that, at the very least you might be able to summon a high level alpha creature to get chibi levels

Yeah I really wish the fantastic tames just wouldn't spawn if you don't have them enabled. They should actually be premium mods, that way they wouldn't exist in the code unless you install them. I think I could tolerate the dreadmane allot more than the pyromane though, I disabled the pyromane in the INI before I even had a chance to run into one, especially with that nonsense spawn zone on aberration, even if I buy the pyromane I would still probably try to make sure they couldn't spawn on AB, actually might buy the dreadmane, but even if I don't I won't mind it running around

I don't see how it is logically possible to do it anyway other way, keeping it a paid dlc. How do you have it in the game but also only people with the dlc can see them. Also if this is a neutral mob then I think that is better than it being aggressive.

Watching this I had a thought so I tested it out, The black hole feature is more than just a cryopod. It actually captures the creatures inventory aswell, which would make it great for resource farming. Inventory of the captured dino does not affect drag weight.

the creature seems like a kamikaze/support you can hop onto it dive into the enemy stegos wih aura of hate and terror shield and pocket giga them and once ur aura of hate runs out you pocket ur giga back and then spam the projectiles its a rly versatile concept in my opinion

Can it pick up creatures holding other tames or structures? Does the "cryo'd" tame's inventory affect the horse's weight? How long can the horse hold a tame? What can immobilize the horse? Can the horse be teleported?

Syntac if you have a buff and then you go into your inventory while the buff is active click view buffs at the bottom and it gives a better description of what it is doing.

@Syntac i´m not sure how long it will take to get you there but: in ARK 1 one of the easiest ways to get the Taming Efficiency from a Bloodstalker AND Desmodus to 100% was not by having them grab your Dino, but by shooting them with the Healing beam from the Tek Pistol. 1. get grabbed to start taming 2. shoot them with the healing beam (about 4-5 healing ticks should be fine) 3. bam you got 100% efficiency not sure if it works in ARK 2 as well but i might as well mention it for the future.

This taming method looks very interesting for sure... Overhall whole crature looks far better than pyromane and don't feel so OP... Perhaps I would work a bit more on wings flying animation... Is that healing thing stackable? couse if it is then fighting pigs would make someone very tanky ;) Also, I higly doubt it would require sea trophies, since it couldn't spawn such creatures... Honestly I allways liked phenix taming mechanics, so this one is very close... I allways wished for thunderbirds to be added appearing whem there's storm around...

And it’s still to me the best and easiest way to take anything, if you see a 150 giga or a 150 carch sorry but the giga is significantly easier, more fun, and less risk. These new taming methods they keep adding are frustrating and they don’t work half the time, I was playing a week ago try to take a stupid giantoraptor and the baby would spin in circles forever never letting me do the dance.

I imagine you're right about not being able to pull wilds into the vortex, but to be fair what you tested wasn't a "wild". Ark treats unclaimed as a tribe. That's why a special command is needed to wipe them instead of the one for wild dinos.

It seems unlikely that it would ask for alpha aquatic creature parts considering it spawns in the creature if you do not have the part available. Meaning there wouldn't be much point in spawning an aquatic creature onto land.
