CREATURE UPDATES + Q&A Yi Ling's preferred kibble is EXCEPTIONAL. I was always told to feed creatures their preferred of above, nothing less, and just assumed they didn't eat anything lower. Turns out they do, it's just not good to do due to how ineffective it is. Cheers to @bajcli for the pointers! Always learning in ARK! 🫣 Yi Ling can be bred and once an egg is hatched babies will happily eat meat!

Thanks! I spent ages trying to work out how to time that. Took me until 5am to work it out, so I went to bed and cracked this out when I finally woke up! Why do releases never land on a nice time for me! 🤣

After a very long search, I tamed a level 140 Yi Ling and after another long search, I found a level 145 one but it doesn't dive at me even though its feather count is around 80-90. Also, the previous time, as soon as it passed 30, it would dive at me and I could stun it. Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
@toastbloke2 ай бұрын
The only time I had that happen, I showed in the video. If I blocked or prevented a dive attack, it would bug out and stop doing them again. Have you manage to get things working again?

Can you make a tutorial on how to join official servers after aberrations launch since it’s FREAKKKIN IMPOSSIBLE.
@toastbloke2 ай бұрын
I know exactly how to fix it... get a company that isn't Nitrado to run them! I don't get how this far into the games life official servers can't launch smoothly!
@bajcli2 ай бұрын
There's nothing special about this tame and kibbles, that's just how kibbles work. All dinos have a preferred kibble; that & any kibble that's of a higher quality will give the increased taming %. Any kibble lower than that will ALSO give taming %, but only a very small amount (something like 2/3 of the value you'd get from a raw meat feed, or similar to a cooked meat feed for carnivores). Yi Ling must have a preferred kibble that's better than basic (that's why you didn't get a lot of taming% out of it), but probably lower than exceptional. It could be exceptional but since it feels like a midgame tame and none of the AB tames need exceptional kibble, I doubt it. Anyway, great guide, just thought I'd share some info.
@toastbloke2 ай бұрын
Oh my word, I've just jumped on to test and you're right! I was always told to use preferred or above for a kibble tame, as preferred and above would always tame at the same effectiveness, and not to use anything below. I must have assumed that was because they wouldn't eat any kibble below because of this, and how other taming mechanics work! Obviously I still won't use anything less than preferred, BUT this is great to know for future testing! Turns out this things preferred kibble is Exceptional kibble! 🤯
@bajcli2 ай бұрын
@@toastbloke Yeah, kibble mechanics is a bit of an overlooked "science" because by the time you set up a greenhouse, it's usually easy enough to get a few Yuties or Deinos and at that point you can just keep making Extraordinary kibble and not really bother with anything else. Why make 5-6 different kinds if you can just use the best for everything, after all? Anyway, good to know it's Exceptional, since Extraordinary is kind of a pain to get on Ab (or at least by the time you can breed Rock Drakes for eggs, you probably won't really need a Yi Ling so it wouldn't make a ton of sense)
