Just to let you guys all know I’ve had my nose done over ten years ago and I still tape it sometimes over night when my skin feels puffy or if I want it extra defined for the majority of the next day. I swear it works!

Thank you ... I had mine done 3 weeks ago. My doc says you can expect swelling for 3 years. Sure it will go down in time but it takes.quite a while. Thanks for this! I will definitely try it.

same! (Nina S) My rhinoplasty was over 20 years ago and I still tape it sometimes. My surgeon did an amazing job, but sadly I had horrible swelling and scar tissue afterwards - had to have steroid injections .. and began my nightly taping then. Actually, I trim a bandage for the first 'tape', and complete the job with micropore medical tape - sticks better than paper tape. Although steroidal creams (such as for eczema) are a no-no for the face (can cause thinning of skin and depigmentation over time), I admit, I do occasionally put a little on where the worst swelling post-op was .. with the hope that it will work its magic with shrinking the damaged tissue a bit

Yeh it sticks allot better but how do you remove it without it pulling on your skin. I feel like wetting it isn’t enough so I’m wondering if there are any topical solutions that you apply prior to getting it removed. Thanks!

For how long did you tape? My surgeon told me to tape for 3 weeks day and Night and 3 months only at Night

No the reason they say don’t rip it off is that it creates more swelling

It depends on the thickness of the skin. If you have thin skin, then you don’t need to tape your nose. Thin skin heals quickly and gets attached to the bones and cartilages so fast. As a result, no swelling and no gaps. Therefore, no bumps and no need to tape.
