Coach Holler, your old coach who used to call your track team the Dragons reminds me a lot of my former coach. I grew up up near a beach with sand dunes and my track coach used to say (and I quote) "You're gonna run them fuckin sand dunes until you fall down and spew and then you're gonna pick yourself up and fuckin run them again!" 😂

Hello coach! I've purchased your courses 101 and 102 because my intention is to improve my speed. I play rugby and I'm at the beginning of the season and I do have some questions. 1. If I do put the x- factor drills on the same day as my speed day, how many of the x- factor drills would you include? If the workout takes less than 60 min, would all of the drills be included or can I choose which? 2. I do solo training ( no coach) and have no way of timing myself. I can video myself with a tripod though to look and to my refine my tecnique. Do you think it's a waste of time without being able to time myself? Or should I go with what I have? Thanks for everything from Sweden! Btw, where do I keep in touch with you the easiest?

Do as many exercises in 30-40 minutes that you can do while recovering from each exercise enough to do the next one perfectly.

Hey, Tony, thanks the video. I have a question. I left my "no pain no gain/go grind" coach and started training on my own. "Feed the cats" taught me that 40s and 50s are the best speed workouts. My flying 10m PB went from 1.12 to 1.06. But my 100m times haven't really changed. I've noticed that earlier I'd 1) Do more plyos (well now I do plyos) 2) Do long runs like say 5x150m. Ever since I left my coach, I've been focusing only on speed and plyos (and some lifting because I'm weak) In the 30m to 40m zone, I run 1.06-1.08 consistently. But in the 40m to 50m zone and later on, my speed drops significantly, in fact, my best 40m to 50m split time is 1.14. And the further I run, the worse it gets. What do you think about it? Should I add some longer runs to my routine?

Could try 30 m flys instead of 10

Coach Holler, do you think doing static stretching before sprinting may actually increase the risk of injury?

Probably not.

No longer runs. Your problem is not endurance! Your problem is sprint efficiency and max speed (speed reserve). Keep sprinting and getting faster. Endurance work detrains speed.

do you know of eny pro sprinters who are doing feed the cats

Feed the cats is meant to motivate and bring football players onto the track not train pros. Some pro training might resemble feed the cats but if that's the case it's probably based on Charlie Francis style of training.

Lots of pro coaches such as Vince Anderson use high intensity training methods but without the low volume of Feed the Cats.

Vince is low volume too. The fact that he coaches older, more durable athletes allows him to work with slightly higher dosages.
