I've been teaching Special Education (Middle School) for 4 years, but am thrilled to be moving to teaching art in Elementary School (3rd-5th grade) in the fall. Your videos have helped so much! I can't wait to see more!

Thank you very much for this Video! Art teachers seem to have the same problems all over the world. In Germany too, drying racks make those nasty noises. And sword fights with rulers are also popular. I teach German and art, and after teaching almost exclusively German for the past 10 years, I’m teaching nine classes in art this year and only one in German. I did set up rules, but never thought about repeating them so often, and then got frustrated. This year, I’m going to try out your tips!

This is fantastic. Thank you for sharing your video that you show the kids what to do and what not to do! I was dying laughing at your examples of what not to do! 😂

Thank you so much, Katie Jarvis! I was moved to another school in the district and I was apprehensive. I implemented some of your strategies with the happy and sad board. I bought and painted gold and silver paintbrushes and incorporated the red and yellow zones. It's been going well. I'm so happy and thankful. I'm also surprised how much the 5th graders want the gold paintbrush! I guess it brings out their competitive side- going for the gold. Your lineup routine works great too! I hope to solidify these routines soon so that they will become protocol.

Is there a video specifically for the kids showing these behaviors and procedures? Love this!

What I show my students is the 2nd part of this video. I also have a free list of art room procedures for the first month www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Elementary-Art-Routines-Checklist-for-Back-to-School-10080904

Hey 😇 ! Wow I’m implementing so much of what I’m learning in your videos. My students absolutely loved ur video. It was hilarious to them bc it’s exactly how they act. They laughed so much. I was so glad that I found a way to remind them of the rules in a fun way that grabbed their attention. It’s hard for me to organize all of these procedures and rules w my add it doesn’t come natural but at my new school it’s mandatory. it’s so worth it and they aren’t really difficult to follow. I feel like once they learn everything it will get easier and when we bring out the paint I won’t lose my cool. 😂Thank you this style of rules making really work s for me and Your quite the actress. My students asked if there are more videos w you in it. Lol

How did you get the emojis on your screen when you are showing clips of you doing the right thing, or not doing the right thing? I can make the slides between, but I don't know how to add graphics to my own clips. Thanks for taking the time to make this for your students and adding to it to share with other teachers! :)

Are you using an Apple device to create a video? I used iMovie and they inserted the photos as Picture in Picture. Does that help? If you give me more info I can be more helpful 😀

Can you share your student video/presentation about the rules on tp
@Managingthemess7 ай бұрын
The video I show students where I’m acting out what to do/not to do is on KZbin. The slides presentation has copyrighted images at the moment but I may be able to edit and upload it this summer. Thank you for the suggestion
