The course looks amazing. Just one humble suggestion. It would be great if there was an option for the user to select if he wants the 5 second pause when you ask questions, or not. I personally would prefer without pauses. So maybe you could provide an additional version where those 5 second breaks are removed. Gratias tibi ago, magistra.

If you do not understand these words, then I won't recommend you to become a Latin teacher right away. Please try to get better at that language before trying to teach it. ;)

Many of my videos do have Latin captions. In this one I talk to Latin teacher, who are supposed to understand even without subtitles.

@@SaturaLanx Unfortunately many teachers were not taught to speak Latin, and even if they are trying to learn how to, having the Latin words captioned is valuable as a transitional stage before listening to Latin without the printed words. By addressing only Latin teachers who can already understand spoken Latin, you are excluding many who are trying to get better at that, but aren't all the way there yet. Many still see Latin as a "read only" language, and even if you don't, saying they shouldn't teach until they can speak like they are "supposed to" is not very encouraging. I agree that there needs to be change in how Latin has traditionally been taught, but have some sympathy for the teachers who were taught that way and are struggling to make the transition to spoken Latin.

@@thelatinlady8385 ? The Latin teachers to whom this video is addressed are supposed to already be able to understand spoken Latin, not to speak it. Speaking is much, much more difficult. Truly, any Latin teacher who cannot understand the easy Latin in this video cannot do any of the things Irene is suggesting in this video, even if only because it's about how to teach spoken Latin. How would anyone teach spoken Latin who cannot even understand easy spoken Latin? Irene is doing so much to help anyone, not only teachers, on their spoken Latin journey, and with so much sympathy; it's really unfair to judge her for not laboring on subtitles for all her videos.

Familia Romana e, se le è possibile, affianchi il corso on line di Irene Regini, Gustatio Linguae Latinae. Se non può, affianchi il volume Latine Disco. Ovviamente è soltanto il consiglio di un vecchio grammaticus.

Buongiorno, Marco mi ha preceduta: sicuramente consiglierei il libro "Familia Romana", se possibile sotto la guida di un insegnante (il mio corso asincrono potrebbe essere un'opzione valida se sua figlia lo preferisce ad un corso offline).

Thanks for being a great Latin teacher, but pausing after each word makes you harder to understand not easier. The playlist where you discuss the bio of famous Latin authors, my favorite playlist, is much easier to understand than this.

She's giving beginner students time to think about what the answers to her questions may be. By doing this she's actively encouraging students to think in Latin, which is a good thing, since thinking in the target language is an essential part of language acquisition. This is of course part of the in-course experience, it's not meant to be listened to in a continuous manner like the excellent podcast (Litterae Latinae Simplices) you mention. If this is not what you mean, please provide timestamps (just type in the time, e.g. 1:20) of where you think she's pausing too long. Thanks! 💜🖤
