Hey JT! Could you please breakdown Kyle Shanahans offense and explain why it’s so QB friendly? I’m curious why people say any QB would flourish in it. Thanks!

The scheme is largely based around the zone run with wide coast passing concepts. The Shanahan offense uses the widezone run to set up several counter punches in the run and pass game. The most significant counter being the play action boot passes to get explosive gains. The reason why people say it’s QB friendly because normally the QB has the advantage of an on schedule offense, good run game, and simplified reads in the play action game to get significant chunk plays.

@@TheQBSchool Including film footage about the stuff you're explaining, regarding QB progessions, would really make this type of video next level.

How do you help young QBs overcome poor performances? Short term: QB just threw a pick-6 or his second INT of the game and is feeling flat/defeated... but it's only the 2nd quarter, and we need him for another 30+ minutes. How do we prepare him before the game and help him during the game? Long-term: QB had a poor performance (or a couple) and hasn't been able to flush it for several days. We know he's the right guy for the job... How do we help him?

I think k practice. If you have great practices in game it helps

Would you attribute any of Levis’ struggles to the arrival of Scangs? Jimmy G improved and Purdy balled out after he left and when SF brought in Griese.

Hi JT. Which passing concepts work best or complement specific drop-back depths? Thank you!
@TheQBSchool Жыл бұрын
Depth of routes should time up to drop. Ie, quick game = 3 step from under center. Intermediate = 5 from under center. Deep routes (+15) = 7 step from under center. From all shotgun drops = -2 off under center drop.

Would you say Ohio State qbs rarely have to get passed the first read? Just curious. Seems like they only have 1 read
