I have decided to learn how to play the Ukulele and teach my 6 year old. I want her to get started playing music and this is what I have decided to use. I have been watching a ton of Ukulele videos from unboxing to tutorials to get a feel for getting started. My 6 year old has a $10 plastic Uku that someone gave her for either a birthday or Christmas. As crazy as that sounds I have been using that plastic Uku just to have something to strum along with while I watch. It is very tiny but it is able to be tuned and hold its tune for a little bit. It was good to watch you teach this first lesson and helped me understand that the 6 year old doesn't need to start out doing everything perfect, she can work towards that goal. Now I have to keep watching your videos to find a ukulele that I want to buy for myself and one for Elizabeth and learn to play. I just wish you were here in North Carolina so we could enroll in your school for your professional help and guidance.

Diana is doing great for her first lesson. Nice art btw. Thanks Bernadette for the first lesson tips. I have a few second graders coming in the mornings to learn the ukulele. They have gotten the hang of C and A minor. Some are able to play F. Two of my fourth graders are learning G7. They don't like it but they are determined to get it. I'll let them know to move their wrist for G7. That should help them out.

I don't know if your school would allow it, but it might help to show your older kids this video. Maybe seeing an adult learn and a different teacher teach might make things *click* for your students. There's something about watching it on KZbin that impacts kids in a different way. They good thing is that they're determined to get it. Let me know how it goes with them!

I’ve just bought my granddaughter Poppy 5yrs old her first ukulele and this lesson is a perfect way to start her playing so thank you for this as I wasn’t sure how to get started 😍. Also, yes I would love you to do a vlog from your school music classroom teaching the students, it must be so exciting for them - it was the recorder when I was at school and how amazing it would have been if it was ukulele instead! I love the song Wintersong by Sarah McLachlan, so I’m hoping that maybe you could do a tutorial for us - I think it’s in the key of G so it would use the chords that are familiar to us 😅. Thank you for all the great videos and sharing about your life and work and Okinawa, so happy your house move went well and so much fast progress on the Sanshin! Such a beautiful looking instrument! 💖⭐️

Ya, ya, more of these videos. This is fun, your humor is a great teacher. Her expression with the G7 is exactly how I felt learning this cord. And her look upon hearing "you want to give them a mint", hahah #IHAP. Yes please, may we have some more. With all the tutorials I have a backlog of songs to learn. This is a nice pause, spending time with you and Diana as we refresh our skills. Love to join your band. "The Nano Ha's" ? Although my skills are not as good, perhaps I could be the uku tuner or the one to sprinkle Cherry blossoms along your path to the stage. Thought, for a future fun video, Ms.B. You play a song on uku as Diana paints the music on canvas. Thanks for the wonderful Wednesday, uku sisters. Play on, "Ms. B and the YaYa's" or "The YaYa B's". OMG.. Diana also here. Hi !! hope you and Miss Bernadette will be doing more videos together. I think "Diana learning progression" videos would be amazing. I hope it will be happening soon so that I can watch it with my niece and nephew.

Would it be possible as you are traveling across the U.S. and you were going through the midwest that I could get you to stop by my school. I am trying to start a school and currently just started a program at my current elementary school and local library that is awesome but they need more than me. We look to you often and would love it if you were able to address the students one on one (or as a group) with all of their personal questions that need a proficient example demonstrating excellence. I am doing my best but...., anyway I would love to have you visit and even inspire them by playing! I love to play and I am a professional musician and recording artist who loves to inspire others. This is all just a thought and long shot which probably not conceivable. I am at school now (3:30 a.m.) trying to figure out ways to help the students and connect with them more. I am looking forward to school starting in about a week : )
