My guinea pig Rinnie, not only responds to his name being called, but he clearly understands what "No" means. Whenever he does something I don't approve, I say a firm, clear "NO" and he backs off. In fact, he learn to cause mischief when my back is turn, but if I find him doing something he shouldn't, I'll say "no" again and he'll usually ran away after the third time. Or nibble my toes, as if trying to say sorry. He's a very smart piggie. :3

You can't teach guinea pigs their name, they are just not intelligent enough, btw I've had guinea pigs since I was 1, and I'm 26 now, my mom and dad successfully breed guinea pigs, so I know alot about them.

I would probably choose the word "sweeties" or something for my herd. That way when my friend's come over I can impress them and make it seem like they respond to the WORD sweeties, not the tone of voice. Cause if I choose a word like "feeding time" it wouldn't be as impressive a reaction as "sweeties". Of course, this doesn't really matter to the guinea pigs, lol. 😂😂😂

My Guinea pigs never saw a fridge or saw me prepare food but they picked up on the sound of the fridge opening and associated it with food extremely quickly. If they heard it while I was still in the room they tended to perk up and look at me as if to say "why are you still here? Didn't you hear the food?"

I know this has nothing to do with the video, but I'm super excited about it! My Guinea pig matches, who I only got three days ago, had a ramp he needs to use to get to his food and water but he couldn't get the hang of it. So I put him up there and showed him the food today, then left for many hours because I was a fair. When I came home he was upstairs! Which means he had used the ramp!!!

I know this is old but I really do adore my piggies. Their space is big enough. Whiskers is zooming around everywhere, popcorning. Sitting on his pillow on his pauses to stare at himself in the mirror :/ bc he's the king on his side of the barrier. Axls just new... like Sunday new. But I've seen his popcorns. & A little of his running. Mainly, he just stays in his house tho. But im gonna eventually make their cages longer & prob add a two story. Or I mean, just a ramp. I have only ever had fish and dogs but I really want a guinea pig, I have started watching Little Adventures to get to know how to take care of them along with the Humanes societies page on these cute little guys, the only trouble is that my parents think they smell and don't want me to get one, along with the fact that I have little space in my room, but hopefully when I move out and get my own apartment I can get one or get rid of some stuff in my room for space.
