I own a brick, and I’ll tell you what, I love the damn thing. It’s got a 6.9 IDI hooked up to a 4 speed manual, with a 4:10 rear end, so you know she isn’t going anywhere quick. And of course she’s a 4x4. It’s got a lot of quirks, but I’m building it up so it’s even more of a riot to drive. I own a 1975 Highboy too,but that’s a project for later down the road.

Yes they are, but let's keep it that way. The highschoolers are destroying all the aeronoses, let's not turn them onto the bricknose and bullnose. I'm a big fan of the bricknose (probably because I grew up in one), but while there are almost no real differences between them and the aeronose, they are way better trucks.

the biggest technical differences are that a bullnose is 80% likely to be carbureted but only the 460 was carbureted for 2 years of the bricknose. Other big difference is some aeronose have a crumple section built into the front of the frame which sometimes has to be defeated by bracing it if you want to use it as a plow truck.
@highostablegarage9 ай бұрын
correct, as far as I know the crumple section of frame is on all 90s f150s, and 2wd f250s

Meanwhile the 10th Generation F-150 is starting to get old and become w classic and it also really was the last generation F-150 that felt bare bones before Ford started to do the wide looking tonka concept in 2004. I actually own a 2001 F-150 SuperCrew and it’s front end reminds me of a bullet with a it’s round/oval bumper and headlights similar what Ford did with their Explorers in 1995. In fact I remember John Davis from MW describing the ‘95 Explorer as having a “bulletnose” front end and I honestly think the same for my 2001 front end 🤷♂️

Just curious- are the front ends interchangeable if you simply bolt on the various front ends? Do they lineup or no?
@johnherlan6875 Жыл бұрын
Yes and no. The bumper and fenders would need to stay with the front end. The fenders will line up perfectly between all three models. However, the Brick Nose and Aero Nose have the identical wheel housings as in a single flare so the swapped fenders from either model will match the bed wheel housing. On the other hand, the Bull Nose wheel housing has an indent before it flares out, the fenders will line up with the doors of both the other models perfectly but will not match the wheel housing of the later models. It probably wouldn't be very obvious to a none car guru kind of person but I would spot it instantly.
