I never know the difference between the two booster box until I have a fake and real booster box, it's true that the fake have no trademark under the letter N of any pokemon box at the front while the real one have TM under the letter N, after seeing your video I am glad the risk of ripping off my cards is no more.

I notice on the fake one, the outer wrapping is bunched at the seams and is noticeably looser than the real box. Is this another hallmark of a fake box?

The real boxes can have really messed up outer wrappers too. There was even a reprint of vivid voltage that the pokeball symbol will rub right off. Wrapper quality control is not great so you can't tell a fake box by that.

The orientation can be any direction, even real boxes will vary.

I have seen some really weird wrapping on legit boxes but I have never seen that. It is possible that is a box that was opened and then resealed.

Yes, it is because the pattern is too light to be picked up by a scanner.

My mom got scammed getting booster boxes for me for Christmas. They were fake and Amazon only issued a partial refund of 50 USD out of the 120 USD spent despite the fact that the product was taken down from amazon for being fake before we asked for the refund, they had no reason to give a partial over a full refund and yet they refused even when we provided evidence of them being fake.

I bought it on ebay. I would also be careful about stockx because even though they claim to have "experts" that verify it is real I have gotten a fake box from them (about 2 1/2 years ago though).

The color scheme of the box should always be the same for the same set so if the front cover flap of an Evolving Skies box isn't yellow, then it is fake

It could still be fake. Other manufacturers may have the symbol and also there are people who reseal boxes so those would look legit.

They ship them in from China to warehouses in several different states, all sorts of products. The ebay seller will be based in China but then the product ships from New York or California.

The logos can rub off fairly easily on real boxes too but if there is no trace of any logos at all then it is probably resealed or fake

A much easier trick to spot the fake boxes is to check the bottom of the box. There should have some country abbreviations above the CE-mark 🧐
