Our question comes from a nontraditional premed interested in forensic pathology, who is starting a job at a medical examiner's office. This premed is worried about making mistakes and not doing the right things to get into medical school as a nontrad.

I would love to be able to talk to the attorney wanting to go to med school since I haven't found a single person with a JD trying to get a MD. Unlike him, I KNOW I want to be a doctor. Going to law school was a pressure thing and I didn't like it. I know this was waaayyy too long ago but in high school 12 yrs ago I volunteered in a hospital for 2 yrs and did a 1 yr health careers program and i knew this was the path for me. Technology has obviously grown since then but I know it's what I want. My volunteer opportunity was put on hold this yr due to covid😭. Even though it was years ago, it's more than i did as far as getting exposure to the legal field prior to law school which was zero.
