I had a major problem with succulents here in South Texas. They grow gorgeous fall, winter, and spring , but summer comes, and they suffer ! Then l splurged and purchased 3 large palo verde trees, and here in south texas, they can get up to 25 feet tall and such an open canopy. It's the perfect amount of filtered light, and now they do wonderful. The tress are deciduous fall , winter, and start leafing out in spring and fully leafed out in summer . Perfect!

Yes! I love my Palo Verde Desert Museum! It provides just the right amount of dappled shade.

Love, love, love your harden! I also noticed my garden looking monochromatic and thought exactly what you said, they are sleeping so once the cool weather kicks in they will start to turn other colors. Thanks so much for sharing your plants and knowledge!!

Here in Florida my succulents are rotting😮💨🤕🤢 We are getting downpours everyday; yesterday all day, on and off.

I'm in South Florida. Depending on the types of succulents you have, some will go dormant in the summer (not just Aeoniums). All my succulents are in full sun, they are in the ground planted with a very light soil mix with pumice, charcoal mix, & they are holding up great. I also give them preventative fungicide treatments.

Florida here too! This past summer we had consecutives days of pouring afternoons, I lost about 3, a copiapoa humilis, a Mamillaria "Dulces Nombres" and a succulent. At the end I had to put a shower curtain to cover them or I will lose more.

Does this advice hold true for inside plants? I have grow lights and A/C to keep temps moderate.

Now that it's cooling down (I'm a little North of you), when should we start watering again. Do you start with just a little water? Please help. Thanks.
