So. Much. Stuff. You'll be amazed at everything that's running.

Leo: Good video. At 6:58 minutes, etc., I think it would be better not to fiddle around with the background intricacies. Question: Should I get a machine with more power specs and RAM, to accommodate the computer's hard work?

Thank you for the information. In my case, I found it useful to speed the video a bit 1.25 was easier to listen to you.

what If I wanted to monitor background activity on a virtual machine from my host system?
@askleonotenboom Жыл бұрын
Something like wireshark may work, but it's not simple.

Thanks, but background processes stop when I move my mouse - as evidenced by my cpu meter. How to get around this?
@askleonotenboom2 жыл бұрын
Seems like a feature, not a problem. There are processes that run when your computer is idle (you're not doing anything), and they step aside as soon as you do something. Moving the mouse is a sign that you're doing something.

@@askleonotenboom Thanks, but it could also be a nefarious process cleverly disguising itself.
@askleonotenboom2 жыл бұрын
@@ringoze Of course it could. ANYTHING is possible. Just notvery likely at all.

i heard its not good on a ssd drive to keep it full is that true?
@askleonotenboom3 жыл бұрын
Nope. No more so than running Windows with any nearly full drive. What impacts SSDs more than anything is writing to them. I have an article coming up in a couple of weeks that'll address that as well.

Thanks for your effort. We should all ask why all this is running without our consent.

Question. How can I delete some unsafe or unnecessary programs in my background. I know that for example, most M$ programs are necessary to run. What are those that I should consider killing!
@askleonotenboom3 жыл бұрын
There's no answer to this question, I'm afraid. It all depends on your specific machine and your specific needs. I can't tell you what to uninstall. Look through your list of installed programs in the settings app and uninstall those you don't need.

hi Leo from min* computer is so slow it keeps asking for updates that I do not want or need. I continually click them off. Thing is to see whats running and to know what to stop running (particularly at start up) is a big problem for a non super geek. Yes I know how to use a computer and the basic stuff. Its only when there is a problem that it is a problem. Usually when I need it most. Anyway I can clear the chash and I would like to clean out some of this stuff for my Windows 10 verizon fios computer so I do not have to sit and wait every time I do something. Any suggestions of how tos?

i accidently put .con instead of .com in my recovery email adress and thats why i am not recieving any code on my recovery email for recovering my account my account has been disabeled
@askleonotenboom3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. That's one reason most systems have you confirm it right away when you set it up. All you can do is follow the recover procedure as it stands, now, and maybe you'll get lucky. Or not.
