@@RG_Rizzy correct, but the use of ginger in sugar cookies is not always obvious because as the name suggests, "sugar cookies". some people don't like ginger, some people may not want to use ginger. the person replying was only trying to be helpful by saying "i found the recipe here, but just to warn you it does have ginger, so if you didn't want that i suppose just remove that step from the recipe and follow it that way". i really don't understand why this was made into such a big issue when the person you were responding to was only trying to be helpful.

For example: My grandmother always shared her gems of knowledge with me when I was a child. Maybe you are from another country. I was complimenting Benjamin. Don’t know why you would leave a rude comment along with the others that agreed! My grandson wants to be a baker. I was curious if he went to culinary school.

I love ovens with windows its so cool to see the process of a ball of dough melting then slowly crisping from outside to inside Personally a cookie thats crisp outside and softer/chewier inside is always my favorite texture but for sugar cookies crunchy dry ones are like eating a sugar biscuit which is just as good. The chewier one also looks good like baked cookie dough....god i could eat every type of cookie and find simple joy of making metsphors of a similar taste (same dough) through diff textures. Maybe because im uncivilized/time convenient and enjoy raw eggless dough itself, but baking dough with eggs def hits diff. God i love food

I've been making my entire life. I can tell when something is done baking entirely by smell. It has literally never failed me. As soon as I smell it, I wait until something in me days "yes, it is time" and I take it out. That said, I've never tried to get varying consistencies of colour depending on the level of doneness. I generally just feel that when I take whatever I'm baking out (including like, oven pizzas and lasagnas and whatnot) it's "perfect". So it might be fun to do things like not wait (although that in the past tended not to be cooked all the way through, but that was cake specific) or push the urge down to get them when I'm sure they're ready to see if I can use the same method for difference consistencies and level of cooked-ness. Basically, thank you for this lol.
