Had this exact same problem after the timing chain was replaced. I actually replaced all 3 coils and plugs and that solved the problem. Another great vid.

just undo the 3 coil pack pins and lift each one one at a time you can hear the spark plug and coil working and tell straight away

A video that i think could also be useful for others is changing/repairing the Gear Linkage cable. Its something that i've searched for on google and not found a single one for this car. I have to change mine tomorrow and even though its fairly easy for me, it can seem more difficult than it actually is for others. Thank you for the videos

I had the engine light and ran rough after a flat battery. 302 code Checked the coils and sparks, looked for signs of gasket failure, all looked OK Decided to take out the battery and charge it overnight as the issue only developed after the flat battery, popped charged battery back in, no code and running fine again Check your battery if it isn't the coil or spark plugs, better than a head compression issue!

@@weednate low voltage issues can cause all sorts of random issues. Same with bad earth faults, which are often effectively the same/similar thing from the ecu’s perspective.

If i swap the plugs in mine and an engine lifht comes on, would i have to have a fault code reader or would a garage just flush them for me? How much would a functional fault code reader be to purchase?

Sometimes they will reset themselves after a while but not always. Cheap code readers can be got off eBay for less than a tenner these days

Nothing to do with it but I was wondering if you have any videos on hardwire a next base dash cam on fuse . I tried do doit on steering wheel fuses but apparently it won’t work so my question is “ do I have to wire it on lighter or the front fuses ( appreciate mate )

Funnily enough I’ll be fitting one soon, not a nextbase but wiring should be same. Not sure where I’m gonna wire it into yet, probably an ignition supply at the radio.

Injector cleaner is always a good idea. Also parts that have been hanging round might not be worth fitting, buy original too.

I bet you can’t take the fuse box under the bonnet out of the car and film it. Also I really need help figuring out how to take it out of the car to switch out the f fuel pump relay

Alright mate- I know it’s probably not easy for you to give me a straight answer, but here goes. My shit bastard 107 is showing a p0171 fault on my OBD2 reader (system too lean-bank 1) If the car’s been sitting overnight, it takes a couple of turns to get the bastard fired up. After that it runs ok but not great. It’s definitely not running as sharp as it was. I’ve changed both oxygen sensors, the air filter and the spark plugs. I’ve also cleaned the PCV valve (or whatever the fuck it’s called) and the idle valve...Before I go throwing more money at it or pay some bellend to do the same (with all of the added changes thrown in) any ideas on where to look next?

You’re welcome and it sounds to be either too much air, or not enough fuel. Check for air leaks on the intake around the injectors where they sit in the manifold can leak sometimes for example, or a crack in the intake manifold. Anything like that, have a spray round at intake with brake cleaner, point it at the joints etc and if you spray at a specific place and the engine note changes, chances are you have an air leak. The other thing is possible is lack of fuel, but that’s less likely. Poor flow from fuel pump or blocked injectors but those faults are less likely tbh. Let me know how you get on

@@LykeArgy My humble apologies. I had family issues going on at the time and put the car on hold. I completely forgot to get back to you. Anyway, car's sorted now. The main issues were a duff fuel pump and a leaking catalytic converter gasket (was drawing in air) It fire's up first time now and runs smooth. The next job (when this bastard weather settles down) is to tighten up the gear lever and during the summer, touch up the bodywork. Thank you for taking the time to make your videos-very much appreciated.
