Why do you need to remove the lock pin, can you not just tighten the line using the tensioning rod without taking everything apart?

I had the same thought. I think everything being loose helps give you space to build momentum when tensioning. You’re right, it feels unnecessary undoing everything every-time, but I’m glad they showed it in the instructions.

mine came without a line pad. is it a necessary? if so what fabric is it made of, maybe I have something suitable at hand.

I wish the line pad was still this wide. It’s a one inch strip now and so hard to keep in place. But that doesn’t really matter anyway. Apparently I’m not strong enough to get very good tension for my weight. I’m barely an inch off the board since I retensioned it. 😢

Yes, without it being the width of the strap it causes a scrunch in the strap at that end.
