Thank you so much! I had my first highline Saturday day and struggled so hard with this move, I gave up and just did the muscle up for the rest of the day, which wore out my arms really fast. Can’t wait to practice this!

@@numbersboy557 I can walk on it!! It's down for the autumn/winter now but I managed a back and forth walk- not gracefully but fun. Next year, a bounce :D

I just highlined for the first time today and I didn't feel scared at all, well I felt scared to my abilities. I was like a new born baby deer. I really need to practice sit standing. And taking my first fall. That'll be scary. But my first time only made me want to learn more about it! can't wait to practice literally everything!!

Hey Sam, nice video buddy. Your channel is great and has some amazing tips. Keep up the great work. I gave this mantle mount a first attempt last night and my legs and butt are shredded. Practice makes perfect I guess :)
@rangerroor6 жыл бұрын
Finally figured this out today! A way to add "body tension" to get your hip closer is by walking your hands away from your feet, that way your body is stretched out and it's easier to get your hip up. Also, throw your back leg over to make it easier to sit on the right side of your butt

Maybe this is a stupid question because i'm totally a beginner in slackline. Is it a problem that the slack gets twisted with this mount?
@ih8tusernam3s4 жыл бұрын
I've been trying it lately, it does get twisted.

I still haven't been able to do the mantle mount. But the pullover is a much easier way to get up IMO, and still less strength than a pullup.
@SlacktivityCh8 жыл бұрын
+Joe Mckay The pullover (without using the ground!!) might be an easier way at the beginning. But the reason is, that the pullover is often learned at school so you already have the movements ready... In the end the mantle mount will take less strength once you worked it out.
@cooledcannon8 жыл бұрын
+SLACKTIVITY Yes! I finally did it! After a few weeks of a break, somehow when I tried again it clicked. I was able to do this multiple times, but not consistently(every time/most times). And it's much less tiring, and less strength is needed yeah =D

Do you twist the line with your hands from below so that when you swing over the line isn't twisted?
@SlacktivityCh6 жыл бұрын
it doesn't matter if the line is twisted - you can easily untwist it in the sitting position.
@jlouzado9 жыл бұрын
Hello ***** I'm having trouble with this mount because the line has twisted once I'm on top and then untwisting it while it's under you becomes pretty difficult. How does one deal with this situation?
@cotcotpouetpouet3 жыл бұрын
maybe ... manually twist the line before the mount, so it will right and flat after mounting on it ?
@patrickwontor20613 жыл бұрын
Aren't you twisting or coiling the line when you mount it like this? Does anyone know?
@SlacktivityCh3 жыл бұрын
You put half a twist into the line. But you can easily untwist it once you're sitting. Or on longer lines you sometimes simply often don't care too much about 1 or 2 twists anymore.

I tried this on my line. Its really difficult to put your hip high enough(it gets really tiring to do it for more than 2 seconds) and your ankle starts hurting after a while. Any specific tips? Also, what is the advantage of this instead of, say, doing a sort of pull up onto the line?
@cooledcannon9 жыл бұрын
***** Thanks for the advice. I will try and hold my hip for just half a second- its too tiring otherwise!
