How to test 12V Battery with Multimeter

You can start by checking the battery for cracks or bulging sides. If everything is fine, use a voltmeter or multimeter to check the battery voltage. A good battery should have a voltage of 12.5 volts or above. If you see a reading of less than 11.8 volts, the battery is weak and needs recharging or replacement.
Connect the multimeter to the positive and negative battery terminals. If you don't have a voltage of around 12.5 volts, you may have a bad battery.
Take an exact voltage reading with a multimeter, voltmeter, or battery tester to get an exact charge reading. You can also use a multimeter or voltmeter to test your battery.

The voltage of The battery really doesn't have much to do with the health of the battery you can have a battery showing a good 12 to 13 volts but it will supply no amperage this is a good way of seeing if a battery is charged but not to see the health of a battery

One requires a battery load tester to get accurate readings from a battery. A battery can show full charge but when under load the battery will not be able to perform (such as that with a car battery on a -25 Celcius winter morning).

10V can be use but need to check current(A) also.If connect to 10V and lower current requirement, it should okay to use.
