cool, im going to try that.. i just got an old snap on truck with the one that charges 3 batteries.. they wired it wrong and cooked it.. they wired the alternator charging wire and BAT 1 to the same lug (main bat lug) .. $400 part is now trash..

I have a sure electronics multi battery isolator as well. I tested it using this method and one of the diodes is broken. I tested it with a battery and electricity indeed flows in both directions (only on the broken diode). Can I still hook the working side up to the starting battery of my campervan and the other "broken" side to the accesory battery?

hook up the side that freeflows to the normal battery. Hook up the side that only flows one way to the extra battery that runs accessories. This way the extra battery cant draw off the regular battery if the power gets to low.

@@MNDashcamI believe it's the otherway round. Since you want the "normal" starter battery to always be full enough to start. You don't want this connect this one to the broken freeflow diode since then it could supply/lose power to the accesory battery which is not what you want. But there isn't a danger in using a diode which is shot?

Yup. Got a newmar 1-2-70 that has cross continuity between a1 and battery one. Thats what killed the battery on this boat.

Can you test while hooked up?

No. You must remove all wires from terminals, prior to testing. Simply take a photo of the wires before removal, or use masking tape to label the wire positions, to insure correct reinstallation after testing.
