How to test a washing machine heater element with a multimeter

I don't suppose you know the normal resistance range for the thermostat of this model? I'm getting 17k at room temperature and it decreases as it gets hotter. Washer gets stuck in fill cycle like it's waiting for water to get hot but it doesn't stop. Tested heater element and it's perfect within the ranges you quote.

@@grzegorz16100 measure resistance between either element terminal and earth terminal (with leads disconnected). It should show infinite resistance

Great video thanks my heater looks of but the copper coil on the motor is abit black do you think this is the cause of my electrics tripping out for my house

washer machines have heating elements? I always thought the cold hot lines regulate the temperature in the washer.

Yes they do. Don't know where you are, but in the UK they have cold lines only.

Hello, the element of my washing machine give me 30.7 ohms but the multimeter does not beep, ( I already checked my multimeter is in continuity mode) what does this mean?

Hi, does your multimeter bleep if you touch the two prongs together?

@@jaseduar continuity essentially means short circuit so it will beep on most decent multimeters if under 5 ohms. 20 - 30 ohms isn't continuity so don't worry if it doesn't beep
