I have tried the SIM900A and the SIM800L, The SIM800L can't register to network, i believe the antenna is weak i can only get 1 network (but i was able to receive SMS even not registered) i wasn't able to send SMS with it, the sim900A is sending strange answer even it works to send AT command or CPIN command. It's not stable i won't advice anyone to use this module. The SIM800L is working perfectly with SERIAL (I have put an UART to directly talk in COM) but as same as the 900L it's too weak for antenna (can only get Orange in Bangkok). PS : the powering was done by a stabilized professionnal power source. Results : Waste of time & Going back to HSDPA dongle (5$).

Try it using another baudrate. This module comes with different baudrate.

I think your module is working on different baudrate. Just try the same thing by changing the baudrate

Just change the baudrate. Your module is working on different baudrate. Try others baudrate showing in arduino. You also need to change the baudrate in your code.

It happens because your module is working in different baudrate. Just change the baudrate in code and try again.

Can i ask sir if what is the name of the materials you use in connecting the positive wire and negative wire of gsm module ? I know you mentioned that you need a 5v DC power supply adaptor for gsm module...But what I want is the material you used between the positive wire and negative wire of the GSM module...

Forget about 4G. Suppose you have a 4G Sim Card. Now you are traveling a rural area where 4g network is not available, only 2g network works. Now if your sim receives call and message in this 2g network then it will also works with GSM Module.

Ignore the led. Just check is the module can receive call. Some module works fine but the network status led blink fast.
