How do you have the oscilloscope connected to your system for cartridge measurements

pretty simple--we have the turntable plugged into a good quality phono preamp, then that signal goes into a little mixer which has an audio output. The scope is hooked up to this audio output. It is pretty linear and distortion free, so we do all of our tests in this way!

@@DJFixNYC Ah okay. I was trying to probe the cartridge directly and wasn't getting anywhere. Have a Sharp VZ 3000 that plays records upright, with two styluses so that it can play both sides. Side B was playing very quiet and I suspected the cartridge might be bad. Turns out it was a relay switch at fault.
