Hi! I have a couple of questions. You say a good starting budget is $50 a day for testing, is this specific to a certain industry? Say e-commerce or a brand with national reach? What if it's a local small business that only services the immediate area, would a lower budget of say $10 - $20 a day work for that? Also, when you mention analyzing your creatives to make iterations you say "we're starting to see results and we have a few winners and few things that didn't work so well" How can you tell what's a winner and what doesn't work so well? What numbers are you looking for? clicks, reach, cpc? Especially if you're using CBO and it's just not spending on certain ads, does that mean the ad isn't working? Thanks in advance

Hey Dara, I am facing a challenge with a client and I wanted to get your professional opinion on it. My client suggests that when we do creative testing, we should look at secondary metrics first like CTR%, Hook rates and hold rates instead of the main conversion metric like CPL or ROAS. His rationale is that CPMs change depending on Meta. But, the CTR and Hook/Hold rate would be a better indicator of performance early on and lets us iterate on the creatives faster. Whereas, what I think makes more sense, which is to look at CPL and then up the funnel at secondary metrics as an indicator/benchmark for further creative reiterations. However, he says that this approach needs much more $ for testing phase otherwise way too biased to “luck”. And that the only ones who move to next rounds happen to get the “first lead” - which might not indicate a strong ad. He’s under the notion that the best ads have the best CTR%, hook rate and hold rate. But, I believe that these secondary metrics correlate very little to CPL success (except maybe hook rates) and are to be used more for creative iteration benchmarking. What do you think?

Hi Dara, and thank you so much for this video. I have a couple of questions for you. First, what does "DD" mean in the names of your campaigns? And what's your formula for naming campaigns, ad sets, and ads? Secondly, if you spend $200 daily for testing one ad, how do you determine when to switch off this ad? What is your limit?

I've come up with iterations that I want to test next. Do I add those creatives into the original ad set? Or create a new ad set for the iterations, and leave the original ad set alone/attempt to scale it? I'm a founder and learn so much from your videos - thank you 🙏

3:2:2 method with broad targeting is the only thing we're using now, and occasionally an A+ shopping campaign. The problem with A+ campaigns is they tend to focus more on mid/bottom funnel which, from past experience has made them less consistent/fatigue faster even though results are typically good short term.

And second question, do you scale your broad spend by scaling the winners in your experiment campaign or do you have a separate broad campaign you transfer the winners to? Thanks as always.

Hello Dara, thanks for the video! Just one question: Have you seen that meta spends all the daily budget of the adset in just one ad and the other ads get no spend? When that happens, do you assume that Meta is right and the other ads were likely to perform worse or do you manually turn off the ad that is getting all the budget just to see how the others work? Sometimes I feel like my tests are not working because some ads are not even getting the chance from Meta.

Hi Dara, I have an ASC Campaign in USA and another campaign doing creative testing. each time there is a conversion on my testing campaign, I will duplicate the creative into the ASC campaign. Within the ASC campaign, there is 1 creative that is converting very well and taking up 90% of the budget. hence, any of the duplicated "good performing" creatives don't get much budget or traffic. is that normal? is there a way to fix it? maybe move to CBO instead of ASC+? Hello, can someone help me? I'm running a campaign with the goal of getting conversions. I'd like to create a new ad set to test a new creative, but I can't duplicate the existing ad set. I can only duplicate the campaign or the ad. I've noticed that for some objectives on Facebook Ads, the ad set is already merged with the campaign, such as for the conversions objective. Does anyone know how to solve this issue? To test, should I duplicate the entire campaign or insert the new creative into the existing campaign?
