Right on...I like it when established companies show you how to make a thing...and not try to sell you a thing..good on ya MAPERFORMANCE!👍

1:03 in the background you can hear what every real mechanic shop in America sounds like........."Fuck!" The only thing missing was The 'Ting' 'Ting' 'ting' of a wrench ricocheting off of three things in the shop...

I feel so dumb I can’t believe I never thought of pulling the charge pipe off and testing there! You’re the best! Hopefully I find my leak, Thing runs like straight dogshit right now

I know it's not good for the electronics that maybe near, but I spray soapy water on the whole intercooler system. There are a lot of leaks that I could not hear. I had one Jeep Liberty that I did a turbo rebuild and install that was leaking air out of the intercooler from the factory. I guess they never pressure test the intercoolers. Keep in mind some of my customers are deaf, with the soapy water you can see the bubbles.

+Turbo Lab America Thanks for the input Turbo Lab! This could certainly be added on to make a fool-proof system to find leaks.

I have a leak where the air is coming out the intake where the air cleaner hooks up. Why would air leak out the intake if it is not suppose to see boost pressure?
@snowjammma4 жыл бұрын
can you do a video on subaru boost leak and whether or not its important to plug off the return vacuum lines to the turbo intake pipe and if it is important to keep the crankcase pressure in check by removing the oil cap to release pressure?

This was amazing and a great video keep them coming!

5 years ago but when you do this test should the BOV open at all?
@dannyg1444Ай бұрын
Sounds like you're putting in too much air. You just wanna pressureize it a bit and turn off air. And you're seeing if it'll hold pressure. If you keep putting in air eventually it'll reach that BOV threshold and they'll pop.

I’ve noticed my ecoboost use to run 18-22 Pounds of boost easy and now it barley hits 16 and holds 15 ):

Is the exhaust pipe should be blocked? Or at least i want to make sure all valves should be fully closed , to make sure no leake from exhaust side , is i am true ?

So your not capping the pipe off that goes into the throttle body?

Dumb question but wouldn’t the Bov or the wastegate open when do this
@09dpac Жыл бұрын
it should be closed.

My thinking is the pressure would go by the throttle plate and into the intake and out any open valves or out the intake air box. But mine is an ecoboost with twin turbos, so maybe a different setup.

Thank you, I'll try this I'm not showing boost on my dash gauge and my methanol injection system which is governed by boost isn't activating. I purchased a new gauge which didn't work still stopping at zero and I used a regulator and compressor to actuate the meth which worked so I haven't found the problem yet. No abnormal noise the car runs well V3 with the smallest pulley they offer
