I had a turbo boost leak in a 2013 Ford escape. Car is actually never been run hard. The only reason we figured out it was terrible was because it was smoking like hell. It was not overheating. I did put a little bit of stop leak in through the radiator overflow. Honestly it's been working fine. I know you're cringing reading this whole thing haha but I am a single mom who is also a single grandma mom taking care of her two severely premature grandkids full time. I also am only in my 40s . I have life left in me and I hope my car does too. I have knowledge about cars and know that I have to get from A to b because of the kids and also because I have Lupus and multiple doctors. Don't yell at me for putting this stuff in the car do you think it'll be okay or should I get rid of it? I have had 17 used cars. Never had a turbo go out on any of them 😞

It would be better to use a vacuum system smoke leak tester. Just fill the turbo and intake system with the smoke, then use your pressure system there to push the smoke out if the holes are small and need the pressure to show the leak.

If only my turbo and intake hoses were that easy to get to. The joys of owning a BMW haha😂

What you would expect to see with a substantial leak especially from turbo is a lot of exhaust coming from the tailpipe muffler system , right? 👍 Also when idling or stopped at 🛑 stop signs it huge smoke

It's not fine to use 100psi. If you theoretically fix all the boost leaks and pump 100psi into the system your gonna blow something creating another boost leak or worse

With new boots it held 100psi, so I'm not worried about it.

Not only that, certain components might just not be able to handle the pressure and just straight up break, sensors, your intake manifold, blow off valve, etc. Better to test at the max pressure you expect to see during normal operation
