Hello Vito Before touching the metering device, you may have to start by checking the pressure and flow rate of the fuel pump (with a bottle for X sec), the condition of the two fuel filters ? Putting the injectors in an ultrasound bath would not be a luxury. Nb: I found my faults on my C124: I changed my EHA, my coolant temperature sensor, my idle potentiometer (with a lot of patience). My 124 coupé now runs like a Swiss clock. Next work : the clutch slave cylinder to be changed.

I used the Engine Restore on a beater 1991 Subaru Loyale that was drinking oil and had not so great compression. It helped some-I don't think it's total snake oil like a lot of those kinds of products. Too bad about the injector; I thought that would fix it.

@VITOSGARAGE3 жыл бұрын
My compression is low on that cylinder. If your compression and spark are good, look into troubleshooting your KE Jetronic or possibly rebuild a fuel distributor

7:35 you no need to run the engine to test the injector, just bypass the fuel pump module with piece of wire and depress the air plate, this will make injector to spray
@VITOSGARAGE3 жыл бұрын
Yeah but I just wanted to test them this way. The only thing I should have done is I should have pressed the air flow plate down to see the spray pattern off idle. I only looked at the pattern while at idle

Get seaf foam depending on how much fuel u have u can put 2 3 cans of sea foam depending on how much fuel let it run for 45 min turn it of for few mins 15 atleast leat engine cool off n then try it again

I already tried soaking that low compression cylinder in sea foam for 48 hours. That stuff doesn’t work. Just lots of advertisements but it doesn’t help with anything..

Mine was kinda doing the same thing. Still is really. - New plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, All new fuel system in the rear and lines, filter, etc. New relays too, O2 is working proper as well, New idle air valve, EGR works. Yet, Im torn between EHA being faulty or something else. EHA doesn't leak though and O-Rings are great! It idles like in this video, Up, down, over and over, and when I tune the Lambda I can get it to level out with less up and down but it idles literally like 400-450 and its bad! So its pointing to something not able to hold a steady pressure some way. The plunger isn't stuck on the FD that I can tell But the air flap did do something odd. It went HAYWIRE! Flaps like hell when it's almost dying sounds like a busted subwoofer ahaha. I can hit the gas and it will stop it from doing that and idle but back to how I said it does in this video but worse. I don't think the boot is torn any at all on the FD below it, It wouldn't be kinda obvious at that point. I've seen videos. Before all this chaos, It was running SUPER rich as the plugs were black as hell! Twice actually. So it was tinkered with by the previous owner as the Lambda protection was removed and EHA had signs of tinkering but is original. Anyway, All this trouble started oddly after I redid the whole fuel system with new proper pressure and so on. It's like the engine now can't adjust and handle it properly. Kinda thinking my injector's have issues like yours really. The passenger side is what seems to have a weak spot when it stumbles idling and you can hear a slight tapping on the passenger side which would indicate failed combustion or weak? What do you think? My symptoms as I said are almost identical just a bit worse. When it does try to stumble and stop, Thick white gas/exhaust smelling smoke pours and its not fluid's burning or oil, Both are clean and fine and no usual symptoms of that at all happening or smells. It did have a black smoke issue but I fixed that with the new plugs and Lambda adjustment since it was messed with before, But then it was also driving fine. It was just like the more I drove it though, out of the blue with the new fuel stuff this happened. Guessing where it sat so long the other guy kinda didn't take care of the fuel injectors and seals? Idk
@VITOSGARAGE3 жыл бұрын
The problem with my car is a low cylinder pressure and no combustion happening in Cylinder 8th. I have a good fuel supply and new injector there as well as good spark coming to it. But my compression was 120psi comparing to others that were about 160-170psi. It still has that misfire and running on 7 cylinders now. I’ll be pulling the engine and trans in the future and tearing everything apart. But that will happen sometime in the future. As of right now the car runs and drives. The reverse gear is gone too. So she’s waiting now since I’m working on a lot of other cars, not just mine. As far as your issue, you have to check both fuel pressures. Get a KE Jetronic fuel pressure gauge and test both system and differential pressures. There should be about 0.3 bar difference between both. Make sure you don’t have any vacuum leaks. Use a smoke machine to check that. Your injectors may be leaky as well. The FD usually needs to be taken apart and rebuilt. These cars need that. They can get dirty on the inside and the diaphragm may be bad. That can cause problems. I recommend rebuilding your fuel distributor. They sell rebuild kits online. When everything is installed on the car, disconnect all the injector lines at the FD, turn the fuel pumps on (jumper wire at the fuel pump relay terminals 7 and 8 usually). The fuel shouldn’t rise in any ports when the pumps are on. Now, press the air flow plate down and watch the ports. They should all fill up with fuel simultaneously. If they dont, you have a problem. You have to make sure fuel injectors are getting the proper amount of fuel. Make sure the compression in all the cylinders is somewhat equal. Make sure the air flow potentiometer is operating. You can check continuity test on it. Look online. These systems are sensitive, so any small issues can cause running problems. Let me know what you figured out
