Hey man that was pretty great way to explain that. If the maf or map sensors are under reporting data due to a vacuum leak, would those sensors throw codes as if it had failed. Like a false code? Like po171 can be set by under reporting sensor. But can under reporting sensor set po171 and not set code for the lazy sensor

Have 06 3.5 flex V6 With my foxwell the Code is P0172 which indicates the MAF sensor Testing it with live data at idle it's a flat line in the center and changed with increase RPM At idle it's flat line

Calculating the g/s has nothing to do with the # of cylinders, it's based on engine displacement. General rule of thumb is g/s = L x 1.15 at idle. So a 3L engine will be ~ 3.5g/s

I have a chevy astro 2001. My engine runs without the maf connected. does that mean my maf sensor is bad? I was told to start the engine and disconnect the maf. the engine should stall I was told but it keeps running. so do I have a bad sensor?

Hello, my Fiat Bravo 1.6 multijet is showing between 10-12 g/s on idle. I think this is too much for this engine? Also, sometimes the car idle is not stable and the rpm are moving. When I observe the MAF in that situation it is moving on idle between 1.5 - 13 g/s. Will cleaning the MAF with a spray will help? Thanks in advance!

I understand his process. Because I would do the same thing. Watching the wave lengthen of the sensor. That’s a no brainer, but he didn’t give a solution he only showed you how to test it with a scanner. That’s easy. He didn’t talk about a possible upgrade with the computer. If the MAF isn’t reporting correctly to the pcm you can have an issue. Not downing the the dude he is very smart just thought there should have been a resolve in this video.
