Great video. What about a dirt bike w/o electric start? How would you check fuel flow, by kick start, will this allow flow of fuel from injector/pump?

With a kick start bike, your best option is to run the bike with the fuel pressure gauge, give it a few revs and see if the needle on the gauge drops significantly (more than a couple of psi). If you rev it and the pressure drops way down, you have low flow. With no gauge, disconnect the pump wires and jump power directly to it with a battery and some jumper wires (paying attention to polarity) and you should have flow. -Charles

My friends fz07 died on him on the highway. We get it home and come to find a connector to the pump came loose.(it wasn’t priming so I looked there first) I reconnect and checked the prime with it out of the tank. Fuel came out so at least I know it was working. Put it back in the tank and I tried starting it. The pump primed but again,the bike just cranks. Still doesnt start

What's the resistance of a bad fuel pump for in tank efi pump?

Gotta wonder how you do all those checks on a KX450 with no battery? All I can do is kick start it to "generate" the power to activate the pump.

Just run the pressure tester in-line. If you have low pressure or if it drops when you rev it up, you either have clogged filters or a worn pump. -Charles

Question: can you wash a air filter with just water and soap?

You can but regular soap will not get all the oil out of the filter. It's best to use the same brand of filter cleaner and oil.

How do you check fuel pressure if your bike doesn't start?

Same, you just won't be able to do the running pressure. If pressure is ok and flow is ok, move onto something else. Check compression, check spark. -Charles

I am absolutely lost trying to find the adapters for this? I cannot find anything online. I have a yz250fx and need to test the fuel pump. I found the tester in this video but nothing about the adapters. @@rmatvmc

Yes, this same fuel pressure tester can be used for many different vehicles. They usually come with a few different adapters to work on a variety of fuel systems.
