Thank you I was able to check a mosfet on my Sharp 55" LED tv T-con panel. I had lost all picture. I got reading between source and drain even when I switch the probes. Bought a new t-con board for $10 and the TV works. Thank you so much!

What if you put the probe between the gate and source. Will you get a reading for p channel or n channel mosfet?

This method i found not very accurate when testing onboard mosfets.b/c depending on m/b design draing/souce votage dropping in many m/b affected by differnt design.means you can have both sides have votage dropping reading in diode mode.however testing gate/drain. gate/source is better..or desolder mosfet from m/b to test it.

Hi, No it's not a problem. The beeping or continuity is the only sign of failure.

Are you sure ? All the mosfet 8 legs on this studio monotor speaker i've got have a reading between S and D, on both sides ...... It's 5 or 6 4580 602G JRC mosfets. All of them .... arround 1 - 2 MegOhms or sometimes a few kOhms. Really ? All of them ? Or is this test not absolute and thse measures would mean something else ? Edit : oups, it seems that they're not mosfets, even though they look just the same ... they're dual operational amplifiers. I don't know how to test them.
