Whatever happened to the 35% nickels that are sitting next to everything does the test or not

Those are actually quarters that are 90% silver since they are pre 1965. at 6:15 you can see us testing the quarter that is on the side. The sigma machine doesn't test for buffalo nickels with low grade silver.

Hi, will the Sigma Metalytics test gold nuggets containing a percentage of Silver and Copper. I have a 15.8 gram Australian Gold Nugget I invested in and the XRF test at a bullion shop showed 73.22% Gold, 14.07% Silver and 12.59% Copper. The Prospector I got it from, says the XRF result is rubbish as they do core samples and test, saying mine should be 20 to 22K. I am unsure if this is due to the fact an XRF does not test very deep and the Sigma will go to 2mm depth and may show a better result to what the prospector says.

No the sigma machine is only used for bullion core items that are programmed into the sigma machine. You would need a thermoscientific xrf to test scrap and gold nuggets in order to test that purity or you could use acid to the nuggets to get an estimate as to what purity it is. Nuggets due to them being dirty and having other materials can give a false reading when just using an xrf therefore most nuggets and mined gold are melted down and then sold off once the bars are homogonized and you can get an accurate sample of the material. bullionexchanges.com/learn/test-gold-real Heres an article that could also maybe help you depending on the material you are looking to test.
