Hello Terre Sahel, How are you doing, can you please sow me how to vanish this brick
@H-Connections Жыл бұрын
u could have just put the soil in the jar 1/4 of the way and 3/4 water sake it and leave it for 30mn to settle that would tell u the proportion of sand silt and clay in.
@terresahel235 Жыл бұрын
That test is suitable when the soil is sandy but sadly not applicable to especially silty and clayey soil. Although the test is good in showing whether a soil is expansive or not , it does not give you the accurate proportions of sand silt and clay in the soil

How to eliminate unpurity from clay soil,40ton/hour hollow clay bricks production?
@pakitube0012 жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks for sharing your knowledge with everyone. I'm trying to figure out the clay silt and sand present in soil but can't as all I can see is two layers clearly showing in jar. Wether it is Clay or silt on jar top I can't figure out . Is there a way I can share picture with you please?
@terresahel2352 жыл бұрын
Usually the sand settles at the bottom, followed by silt and then clay. When you have only two layers, this might possibly signify that your soil is very silty clayey. Have you try testing the plasticity and how cohesive it is, if it is not a very sticky soil , I will definitely find another soil if I am just beginning.

@@terresahel235 thanks for your reply, it does make sense now. I will chk for plasticity and cohesiveness

Thank you for the demonstration. With the soil containing approximately 50% sand and 50% silt/clay, would you add approximately 15% sand to arrive at the optimal 65% sand of total total volume along with the 8%-10% cement? Thanks in advance!
@terresahel2352 жыл бұрын
With 50 percent sand and 50 percent silt and clay, the ideal ratio for mixture would be 60 percent virgin soil and 30 percent sand . In other words, if you take 6 parts of your soil in a container it will suffice to add only 3 part of coarse sand since you already have 50 percent sand in your virgin soil. 9 percent cement will do.
@abuhafsaaikens34742 жыл бұрын
Just to make sure I'm understanding this correctly... (60% virgin soil + 30% coarse sand+ 9% cement = 99%-100% total volume) Since half of the 60% virgin soil is sand, that would give you 30%+30% coarse sand totaling 60% of total volume. Correct? Thanks again

@@abuhafsaaikens3474 that’s right.

@@abuhafsaaikens3474 but just make sure your soil is actually 50% sand and 50% clay/silt because it may be another ratio.

thank you very much for the information. Appreciate you bro. but i have a question ... 1️⃣ how convincing is the durability of this material? have you done years of research? 2️⃣ Do you think it would be preferable in a moderately humid environment? with apologies!
@terresahel2352 жыл бұрын
Well the solidity or quality of the bricks depends on the soil analysis and the percentage of cement , the bricks can last a life time more than cement bricks if produced the right way

But, how long will it take you to produce 10 thousand bricks with this process?
@terresahel235 Жыл бұрын
This is just for beginners but once you start to produce and work with different soil you simultaneously start to feel and understand the soil but seeing and touching . In Bamako we can produce 10,000 in two.5 days
