To follow along step-by-step on your InfiniiVision oscilloscope, download a free trial of the power application www.keysight.com/find/free-sw-trial-oscilloscopes

Yeah, that current probe is only $5,000 and that differential high voltage probe is only $2,000. Not sure how much that scope is but it's 1.5 Ghz so I'm guessing around $15-25K.

Sorry, but your title may be a bit misleading. You write "... with AN oscilloscope" but your method looks more like you have to use your brand and model, not just AN oscilloscope:-)

that scope is class, love that it shows you where to connect probe's with a schematic.. : ) bloody brilliant!!

I am in Australia and saw a price of $30k. Very impressive scope but a bit to exxy for testing switch mode power supplies for PC's.

Off topic: I wonder if you can still get the film for that camera. I last used one over 45 years ago. Great video BTW.

Very well explained! Great Video! What model Differential Probe and Current Probe are you using in this setup?

I have a 20Mhz dual trace CRT oscilloscope. None of these fancy buttons or differential probes. I learned nothing here.

These apps are amazing, also I need to fix that SMPS which I've been meaning to fix for about a year... 🤔

I love all your training videos but when you start using words like (“ holistically”) in electronics format. I had to shut off switch to another video. Sorry.

If you need to explain your customer, a ( often specialised) engineer, what to measure, how to measure and why he needs to measure that ( all rather basic things he must know already) you target the wrong market or the state of electronic engineering knowledge outside China has reached a tragic low level. I do not design SMPS, I only repair them, ( a lot, in test, calibration gear and specialized industrial gear, for instance from customers of Agilent gear to old for Keysight to support, and also without schematics because you do not want customers to repair their own test gear anymore (something HP and Tek always promoted) But regarding all your promotion/tutorials/publications etc repair techs are no target market, they cost you money. But you forget the customer that is forced to buy new often does not wants the same brand anymore. For me my scope is as important as my meters (worn agilent, a Brymen 869 that refuses to die, a Keithley 7510 and 2000) I use my scope so often that I wore down a Rigol in 1 year (10 years ago I made that mistake), My 350 MHz R&S is now 8 years old and needs replacement (repaired it twice already) . Most probes last a few moths. But I am not a hobbyist, not a student and not a product developer so who cares what repair-techs (many are also EE) do with a scope, or develop functions for them, or even tell them why you should buy a Keysight for repair. The same for multimeters (not only you) that is most times only focust on industry. My Agilent came with a rechargeable battery but who comes with the bizar idea to only charge it via the testlead sockets so you can not use it during charging (with a 24V powersupply ????). Sorry, I am a bit in rant mode, it is not personal. I think you do the videos very well.

Students, rookies, engineers from other related fields.... Not all electric engineers are required to know all about power electronics, quit being arrogant!

A. The engineers don't write the checks. This is helpful when planning to purchase high-value test equipment that is part of a group decision. B. Many of the features in this video highlight capabilities that have not historically been done solely with an oscilloscope. The power application is a real time saver. C. There are many engineers the focus primarily on high-speed digital or RF design that are needing to learn more about PDN design and validation.

@@Factory400 Thanks for explaining, I had not thought about point A (I am my own boss so I have to write the checks :-( ) From that point of view this is a good/helpful video. The application itself is good. I had no doubts about that.

@@MrQjoo Nothing to do with arrogance. This application costs money, it is not a standard function of the scope, and the people who use this are, according to Keysight, people who design power supplies. If you buy this and you do not know the stuff they explained you waist money because you then measure things you do not understand and that is useless because you then are not able to "translate" this data into changes for your design. The people who benefit from this application know this stuff.
