Hi, could you cover the subject of scope slow sweep while capturing slow or non-periodic signals. Some capture signal from left to right, some - from right to left. E.g. Do DSO always capture from right to left? Is there a correct way to do it and what would be the difference? Wasn't able to find clarification anywhere online. Thanks...

I had some fun with the VU meter I was wiring up to my audio compressor with this (prior to seeing this). I was poking around with a DMM and would redline the VU meter when trying to measure it's series resistance as the DC was flowing through it without the useual resistor that's put infront of it to calibrate it to usefully display audio level signals. I also had fun when soldering the replacement IC LEDs for it's backlight with blue ones, as my soldering iron outputs current at the tip (due to the heating coil inducing current in it), and every time I went to solder it the LEDs would light up magically without it being plugged into an obvious power source. xD

So you can safely use a differential probe without having to worry about shorting out your oscilloscope ?

Like that time I used a VNA as a RF signal generator.... I mean, its not a great idea, but if someone has stolen your RF signal generator, and you need to get the test done...

These scopes are possibly the best that you can buy, I'd love to own one as a hobbyist, but the price range shocked me . I could have bought 2 very flash sports cars, paid off my mortgage & gone on a cruise instead.

Power supplies are heavy, filled with copper, iron core transformers, and a bunch of metal. So sticking them in the bottom of the rack above the UPS or power conditioner would make sense. Hopefully their heat gets pushed to the edges of the cabinet, avoiding how much convection occurs to the sensitive equipment that are higher up in the rack.

Good morning, thanks for this video. I think there is mistake in the formula. Explanation : P=U²/R -> U=sqrt(P*R). Knowing that ESR = DF/(2pifC) -> U=sqrt(P*DF/(2pifc)). In other words the d=DF=Dissipation factor should have been place on the top of the division and not under the disition. Roland.
