Good understandable lesson. Thanks for sharing. Have a great festive season.

Thanks for this simple test, I didn't see anyone else posting this. Seems like it's not necessary to remove the coil pack to test it though, might want to point that out.

Curious about that, not sure if the mounting bolts are a second grounding and whether that would affect it.

Thanks for the video! How do you do it on a 4 cylinders? (ford focus). Do you know what should be the numbers on this one? Thanks a lot!!!!

Hello my friend I need your help badly, by the way great video I like the way you explain how to test the coil, now I have a 1997 mercury mountaineer 5.0 liter it has 2 coil pack four pins for the wire spark plugs each coil pack has four prongs, how do I test them my friend each coil has 4 pins for the spark plug wires, please send me some info and hopefully you have the number of ohms to expect on the test, thank you in advance.

I have a brand new coilpack and somehow still misfiring on “cylinder 5” but when I pull the wire for cylinder 1 the rpm’s stay the same and it doesn’t misfire. Might’ve been misfiring on cylinder 1 and not 5 this whole time. Will do this test tomorrow.

Its good for the mechanic experience and power increase. Now time to add a big camshaft with valvesprings to support it 🤪

When it’s mounted will you still get a reading?

If the car is running ? The coil produces thousands if volts when running so dont do that .
@flex_nyc9885 Жыл бұрын
@@UnTamedMustang the car is not running. When you turn the key it just cranks. It’s a 98 Ford Explorer 5.0 V8 that’s been sitting for a couple of years. I took it on as a project car and started with the basics. So far I replaced: Oil/oil filter Air filter Battery Fuel pump Ignition coils Spark plugs Spark plug cables I did find a new crank shaft sensor in the car in a box. I plan on replacing that next.
@UnTamedMustang Жыл бұрын
I wonder how the gas is. If you remove the gas tank, disconnect the ECU, the fuel pump stays on and you can pump all the old fuel out from the return line into containers. Yellow gas could gel up the injectors and possibly lines as well .

@@UnTamedMustang so far this is what I’ve replaced on the truck: Oil/filter Air filter Spark plugs Spark plug cables Ignition coils Old fuel for new fuel Fuel pump Next I plan on replacing the crank shaft sensor and the fuel filter.

@@UnTamedMustang I replaced the fuel filter and crank shaft sensor. The truck started and I let it run for about 10-12min and it shut off. I tried turning it back on and it just cranks. But I got it to turn over and run.
