THIS video is setting someone up to get their eyese blasted with fuel...first of all all OBD2 vehicles (cars 1995-96 and after) Do an automatic fuel pump test/ prime when you turn the key to the "on" not start position. That is what that momentary humming is from under the vehicle is. If there is a fault a check engine(MIL) light may come on in the instrument panel. The method shown in this video proves nothing. The fuel seen spraying out in general when the vehicle is of is just residual fuel pressure stored up in the fuel system. Second of all a proper fuel pressure test is the only way to not only see if your pump is working but if it is providing "Enough" pressure at least 49-52PSI to the injectors to be fired at the precise moment the computer of the vehicle (ECU, or call many different things by many manufactures) tells it to. If you create a spray of fuel in the engine compartment. well I think we can use common sense as to how that is dangerous.

You can desconect the fuel hose and if their is no presure sure bad fuel pump

doesn't just shoot out there is a valve to push. also you left out possibility of regulator / fuel filter. also a weak fuel pump can still build some pressure. I feel you left that important in formation out

The FUEL pump in that car is in the trunk of that car in case someone is wondering and flow doesn't necessarily mean your pump is good.

This video is a poor discription of a fuel pump not working properly. If the pump is no supplying the correct pressure as it should , then you will still get fuel coming from that high pressure rail. Besides the fuel in that high pressure line is from the hpfp, which is an engine driven component. Pressure is maintained at 200 bar in that line. So it can't just be tested like the way you demonstrated, fit a pressure gauge to the line, to check it properly

I've checked today my full pump scharder valve it's 54 psi while running and it goes to 0 after few minutes once I hold the fuel pump hose on the back seat with a clamp it hold pressure can I add external check valve instead of replacing the whole pump ?

Wrong, behind that cap you unscrew is a schrader valve, same valve you may find in a tire valve stem. The correct test is to install a pressure gauge at this point and check for the correct fuel pressure. You can also put an amp meter on the connections going to the fuel tank and get an idea if the fuel pump is failing, here you will get a higher than normal amp reading indication of possible pump failure.

Is it normal that fuel pump doesnt prime? But car runs. Fuel gauge on the dash acts weird just went to gas station before gas lights up instead it adds up fuel my gas light pops up. My fuel pressure reg is new. How can i rule out if fuel pump or fuel sender (passenger side) is the problem? Both parts are pricey so i need to know which part is the prob. I dont know if my fuel pump is prob cause car runs means fuel pump is pumping but doesnt prime. Correct me if im wrong if i use fuel pressure test its only the fuel pressure regulator il be testing not the fuel pump or the sender.thank you.

Can I add fuel pressure gauge just to see pressure by cutting fuel line going to fuel railway and clamp it there but want to know what's the size of inline hose of fuel railway hose so I can buy adapter with fuel pressure gauge to insert it inside hose and clamp it

Hose that goes to fuel railway the rubber one which will be cut into 2 pieces and insert adapter inbetween and clamp it there from each side and tighten the gauge on the Or I can buy fuel pressure regulator adjustable and use vacuum source from manifold and inlet will be from the line coming to the fuel railway so I'll cut the hose and one will be in and one will be out I want just to see pressure in case it raises I can just decrease it not increase it but if it reduced mean the main fuel pressure regulator in the filter or the fuel pump is bad Hope you can understand what I want to do Do you have what's app in case you want me to explain more for you you can add me 009733632984 Hope you can help My car is 525 2002 e39

+Mohammed alghoul you don't need to cut the line to see the pressure. Just use the pressure gauge for fuel in front of the engine block

I'll add adjustable fuel pressure regulator on this fuel line that hoes to the fuel injector just cause my fuel pressure regular went to 60 psi I change the fuel filter that is coming with pressure regulator so I think cause high performance fuel pump that I've installed so by adding another adjustable fuel pressure regulators front at this hose I can adjust pressure to be fixed 50 psi in case it raised so it'll remain constant 50 psi

how do i know if something is wrong with relay or if it's the pump. How can I tell the difference?

You would have to do electrical diagnostic to find out if it is the relay. This video is showing you if the pump is pumping fuel to the engine block.

Mike Olmos multimeter check ohms on for resistance on the pump also check if pump is getting 12v

01 x5 e53, service engine light came on, and fuel gauge is stuck at 1/4 even though I put 15gal in today. Any idea what is most likely the issue. So far car is running fine but it just happened. Fyi Ive never replaced the filter, pump or sender unit engine has 205k miles. Appreciate any help

fuel pump not full pump. and if you don't have gas coming out its also possible a bad relay ,or plugged fuel filter, wich is not very common, but i guess it could happen.
