Very helpful video. Thank-you. 2012 Elantra center brake light under rear window caused all brake lights to quit working. Replaced and headache gone.

You're Not testing it right, when you put the negative & positive leads to the contacts, you must push the plunger in an out like you would if You' were pushing the break pedal in an out then you read the meter at the same time too get a reading, nuff-said 😊

I hate to tell you, friend, but that's literally what was being done in the video, I think what might've confused you is the word pin instead of you using plunger

Awesome! Thanks for posting this. Followed and confirmed my switch was faulty pins 3 to 4. Managed to bend the contact arms and switch is working again for now. Still buying a replacement just in case. REPLY

Any switch over .5 OHMs is burnt contacts They may work for awhile at one Ohm I don't use them--just something I learned working in plant maintenance on electronic equip Use the same logic with vehicles

pc zapp that's a great point ! Voltage testing and Circuit loading is best and personally if I have no brake lights I check brake signal input on the scantool and to some test light checks but continuity beeps keeps it simple for the DIY guy trying to get his Hyundai going, or check any basic switch for that matter I suppose lol . And keeps it simple for me to put out a quick video for views that could still help someone :) . but you friend , have a very good mind set for circuit testing that helps you not overlook things in the diag process and that , is very awesome .

Thank You Having over 50 years with vehicles as a hobby or special interest & automotive machine shop & tool making & once owing an auto shop for a few years-- helps On to purchasing my 3rd scan tool Can you weigh in on me buying an Autel Maxi Sys Elite
@pskauto67987 жыл бұрын
pc zapp the Autel is spreading like wildfire ! Wide coverage , and great bidirectional controls, user friendly even though I'm super biased to Snap Ons set up , I have used one but do not own one so I'm also interested in other considerations like updates , durability , longevity etc . I don't hear many complaints at all. Though maybe I don't hear them over my own complaints over my one launch scanner that's taking up toolbox space ! Lol stay away from launch/MAtco scanners is my 2 cents .

Does to have to be released til the very end to work or is is enough to release a little bit 0.1mm and it starts to work? My break pedal switch works fine but there is still an issue I have with it...

Hi folks, here's one for you. Hyundai Touring 2009: Here is the symptom: as long as car cabin temperature stays in the low 20's , the Cruze control works just fine. However, turn the heat on and let the cabin temp rise to a comfortable temp. - the Cruze control shuts-off. At that point, engaging the Cruze will shutoff after 4 to 5 seconds. Naturally, my point is the fault was with the Brake Switch. What really FROST my backside is --- Hyundai was not able to find the problem after four months of parts-swapping and about $600 (or more) later. I finally had to go to a Mom & Pop auto repair shop to get a true diagnostics. The business owner found the fault in about an hour. So, in summary a $21 dollar part cost about $850 and about four months of time.

Video starts at 3:30 Why not get to the money at the beginning of the video and then explain for the rest of the video what a multimeter is and how to hold a pencil

These switches were subject to a Hyundai replacement campaign. see: static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2009/CSC-10031008-1296.pdf
