I've been doing video production since middle school, and in Highschool I started using Movie Studios to edit with. I went to College for Video Production Tech and weren’t happy with the “industry standard” editors I used there. I’ve used VEGAS ever since.

Thanks for the tutorial!! I wish you would pause for 5 seconds or so on each spot that you click before you do it. Us newbies can be slow to pick up on where you are clicking because we don't know all the terminology that you are using. Do you have instructions on how to do a vertical scrolling text? I assume it is very similar in most ways.

Thank you for this tutorial! I tried using the preinstalled text scroll preset, but it wraps and is too fast for my taste. Also, I had no idea that you could prerender videos! Hopefully, this will save me some time (and prevent crashes)!

For people who want to make it so that there is no interruption in the scroll, just write in a text divider and then make the duration the same length as the piece of media. In my case, I wanted a "Warming up Stream" scrolling text in a black banner at the top of a small video. It's going to be for an Intro Scene for twitch streaming. I wanted this to scroll repeatedly, non-interrupted. So I made the caption "Warming up Stream // Warming up Stream // " and copy-pasted this as many times as I needed to get the scroll speed I wanted. The total video length is 11 minutes, so that will also be the duration of the text scroll. More text means faster scroll.

Every time I click on media it jumps to the clip on the timeline. I don't want that feature because I use the same clip in several different places and it jumps me away from the place I'm working on.. How can I turn this off?? thanks Also when I bring media clip in it places it at the end of the video time line. I just want to bring it in and place it when I am ready... how do I turn this off as well thanks

Be sure you restart your computer after you install the font

Draging a long text L or R is cumbersome, better to enter numbers a location for quick jumps
