I just tried this same "divet", but I left space between the opposed spine down vs. across from each other. It netted me wide smoother divets. The red and black micarta I used worked great with an OD green 1/16 liner. I was happy with mine too. I placed a stupid order for micarta scales.....

Erik you can also do the gimping on the Small Contact wheel on your Belt grinder .use the top of the wheel. It’s more aggressive because of the Power of the grinder but it takes less time as well . Just another idea for you .Scales came out great !!!

Excellent as ever. Was great to see how pleased you were. I have a knife that is at an almost identical shape and stage as yours was at the start of the video. I’ll be trying this textured on mine also, for the first time. White Bone Knives does a great video just on this subject. He also has some good tips and advice.

Looks great, I've seen a few people use a brass wire wheel on textured G10 to knock of the high spot and keep a matt style finish that looks good as well. I just finished a blade last weekend and tried textured handles and quite liked the look and feel.

To be honest I was afraid this knife would end up looking too "busy" with the three bevels, the file patern and a textured grip. But you, sir, you knocked it off the park. It really did turn out awesome! I'm also glad to see how happy you are with it! I really like the cut out on the scales for the lanyard hole you did on this knives, I did something similar to two of my own knives a while back, so yeah, I really like it! The next one is my favorit eof this batch, can't wait.

The Tanto is a traditional Japanese tactical knife, not the shape of the tip of the blade. Also, not every guy with a pitchfork is Poseidon. Traditional tantos generally have a rounded cutting edge at the tip of the blade. BTW you made a very nice knife 👍
