Very helpful. I just had a thought. I have gobs of veneer stock languishing in storage. What about gluing up a number of layers of same or various veneers until they are about 1/4” thick and using that for scale stock? I’m slowly working on my first knife and although I have lots of woodworking and various shop skills, I don’t know jack about this wonderful craft. Your thoughts welcomed.

You want to stabilize any wood you use, just to make sure you won’t have problems down the road

I don’t think I’ve done any. It finishes super easy though! Hand sand to 2000 grit and buff 🤩
