Except few states, Mid day meal program in India and is very good. My mother is a government school teacher and she eats the food made in the mid day meal only, barring few exceptions it’s really successful. In Tamil Nadu, they serve eggs daily to increase protein intake of students

I didn’t know Pakistan was starting school lunches. It’s a great idea and should help more kids get to school. But I am worried that, like in the US charter schools in Pakistan might take advantage of it. Like here in my daughter’s charter school, we have to pay for food on top of everything else, and they charge really unfairly, like 10 a meal for a breakfast bar and a carton of milk. And 15 more for each lunch. It’s insane. I really hope that doesn’t happen in Pakistan!

With the rate of population growth being what it is, no government in the world can put all the children in schools, with the economy on the brink of collapse too. I am not saying that more cannot be done by the state but a significant percentage of children will always be left out in Pakistan. Even if by some miracle, all 25 million out of school kids are somehow enrolled in schools, the next year will bring another 5. 2 million, and so on and so forth.

Absolutely wonderful and spot on..... And this is why pmln was always successful.... "khata hai to lagata hai" is the best scenario until a better government comes and does "kuch nahin khata, sab lagata hai".... Our people need better lives, and thats all that matters to the public. Every good action of every govt, including the expansion of benazir income programe and sehat card, citizens portal app, langarkhana and panahgaahain initiatives of PTI are all very good things and should be appreciated. Similarly the good projects of PMLN and PPP should also be appreciated. And finally people should vote by comparing the governance of these parties instead of useless rhetoric (like ghulami namanzoor, absolutely not, etc).

On your claim regarding the Basha dam funding: Source? proof? Breakdown of spend? Who was paid? Who authorised it? What for? Like for like comparison (Its a multi billion $ project is it normal)? No $63 million was spent. Instead, the countrywide mainstream media outlets were directed to allocate airtime on their tv channels to promote the dam fundraising campaign (something like a minute an hour in the morning shows, prime time, etc). The directive came from the government authority similar to FCC in US, or Ofcom in UK, known as PEMRA, so the order was legally binding, without the need for any ad money disbursement. (twitter post for the PEMRA directive screenshot It's very easy to grab a screenshot from a dubious source (yes, Vice is no longer the open source journalism it used to be a decade ago).
