Thanks Ana for being here and for asking such great questions. If you are already applying these techniques please be patient and also consistent. Learning new vocabulary using the steps I mentioned is crucial for developing the ability to think in English..... I personally do not use an app, though I suggest that you could do a simple google search and look for any online dictionary you like and find easy to use.. Where are you watching from Ana?

The more you speak in English, the easier it will be to overcome this problem... :)

Hello, I think word by word translation is not good, but If it is translation of phrases and sentences , it is not bad at all, of course, this is for the beginning, so the learner should learn by time and practice how to express a certain sentence/phrase in English without translation, word by word translation is where it can go wrong, this can be seen very clearly in idioms, for example, in Estonian they say "he doesn't go around the hot porridge like a cat" nobody would understand that because I translated word by word, but If I learn that in English it is expressed as "he doesn't beat around the bush" , English speakers are gonna understand it.

one of the main reasons the non-native English speakers struggle with English is they don't know what they want out of it. Language is people and so language is to be picked up from the people directly. the culture is to be studies along with language. so i think, the second language learning should be started much later, i mean only after they understood their own language and its culture. then they would seek cultural meaning of the words and phrases. this put people in touch with people. sometimes we understand people without a word being spoken. but mostly non-native speakers learn English for career or professional reasons, the problem starts, the lose all the fun of learning a language. picking up language directly without translation is a great tip along with monolingual dictionary. here dictionary is really shit! i am sorry. it would be great also if you could make a video of explaining the culture of your people you are live with. the learners will have a parallel understanding of two cultures and wadya you think? the video is very interesting and as usual very honest and direct. Thumbs up!

Thanks for being here and for your detailed reply to my video :) I am a fan of never taking the fun out of learning a language, it is all about having fun, being able to communicate with others and convey your thoughts. Thanks for the great suggestions, I hope to have some cultural videos up in the near future :)
