1). Learn how to question the status quo regularly. 2). Expand your knowledge. 3). Mind mapping. (Map out an idea and expand the idea into other boxes). 4). Draw an image. 5). Think like a competitor. (Point out weaknesses and solutions).

The important thing to remember is your thought actually created "the box". 'Thinking outside the box' merely creates a bigger box. It is important to continually expand "the box" until your goal is achieved.

Really my own personal thought process created the box? Well string me up on a Cross then cause I can't decide if I should vote for those on the far left or those on the far right. I can't process anything beyond binary thought.

I have been told many times in my life that I'm definitely someone who looks outside the box. For example, I have been walking with groups of people and found money laying on the ground, that everybody else never noticed. I've also found solutions to things that everybody else thought was pure genius. I think they were overreacting just a little because the idea never occurred to them, is all. I recently learned that I have face blindness (Prosopagnosia). This means that for the most part, I do not recognize people when I look only at their face. Because of this, I have to memorize something different about them, like a defining feature (like a scar), or the way they speak and so on. Something unique to them. Because I look at things differently, compared to most people, it makes me wonder if this trait carries over into other areas of life and is the origin of, "Thinking outside the box".

Thinking outside the box is about not assuming... assumption is the box. And assuming is the worst thing you can ever do. Learn to ask why. You are being tested.

you can not teach someone to think outside the box when all of their teaching has been inside the box they will revert back to what they have been taught . the only people who think ouside the box are those who dont take everything they are taught as gospel they question everything and try to find a better answer . me i dont even know where the box is so i question everything and try to find a better answer and if i cant find a better answer i will come up with my own answer sometimes i am right sometimes i am wrong and if i am wrong i keep looking till i get it right so thinking outside the box is mind set you have to be open to the fact that literally anything is possible

If you need to think outside the box to succeed, your original box sucked, and you need to admit that. Learn from your mistakes, self-assess frequently as part of your daily routine, and you won't need to "think outside the box".
