Brilliant idea. Very good tip for a lot of frustrated beaders. I use a long-eye needle and just let the very tip of the elastic thread be squeezed to the end of the long-eye needle. It works very well for me. TFS.

This is great, but what size needle are you using? I've found my needles break when I try to do this. I guess they are just too small. Still a great tip, I just need to find the right needles. ^_^ Thanks so much for sharing.

Because where I live there aren't beads stores so I always have to buy them online. The result of buying them online without actually seeing the colors of the beads is that I have a lot of beads I will not use because I don't like them; also sometimes I have the 15°s in the color I like, but not the 11/0s; or I have the bicones, but not the pearls.. and so on. I could try and buy more beads and I would probably be satisfied with a part of them, but I'm not very comfortable with buying beads blindly anymore, because they are expensive. I hope that soon I'll be able to visit a beads store and chose the colors I prefer most :). Till then, you will have to bear with me. :D

I don't what a ring band is but the elastic thread looks perfect for beaded bracelets. This tip is great if you don't have a "big eye needle". I just learned about them. The eye opens up like a V so no difficult threading. Saw this on Beadaholique. 👋💙🙏

Can you maybe please help me with my problem? I am trying to thread the tiny eye of some beading needles with a certain nylon thread. No matter how many times I flatten the thread to try and put it in the eye, I can't get it in there. I'm just thinking the thread is too big for the needle. I can get it into a cross stitch size needle. But, that needle won't go all the way through a size 11/0 seed bead. It will go through a size 6/0 seed bead, however. When I'm working with the 11/0 beads and the small needles, I can sometimes get a smaller thread to go into the tiny eyed needles. But, when I use the smaller thread, it always breaks after I've been working with it and have passed it through the 11/0 seed beads a few times. I'm wondering if you can recommend a small beading thread and needle that won't cause the thread to break when I'm working with it in the 11/0 seed beads. I appreciate any advice and help you can give me.

Hello, I recommend using the Tulip needles - they are a bit expensive, but worth the investment. Cheap needles have a sharp, unfinished, inner eye, that will cut the thread as soon as pull it even slightly. I use size 11 with 15/0s and size 10 with bigger beads. www.perlesandco.co.uk/Round-tip-Tulip-needle-for-seed-beads-size-150-0,41x48,5-mm-N11-x4-p-56968.html www.perlesandco.co.uk/Tulip-needle-with-round-tip-0,46x51-mm-N10-x4-p-56969.html As for the thread, I mostly use Fireline in size 0.12 mm (6LB) - a size that I find works well even with the 15/0s. I almost always use the smoke grey colour, as it blends really well with most colours, and only use white for white beads or very light coloured and/or translucent ones. www.perlesandco.co.uk/Fireline-braided-Fused-braid-0.12-mm-6LB-Smoke-Grey-x270-m-p-99471.html I hope this helps. :) Szidonia

@@Sidoniasbeadedjewelry Thank You So Much for your advice. I will definitely be getting those items you recommend. It's been kinda aggravating not knowing what products to use when I see so many different necklaces and earrings I'm wanting to make. I hope those needles and thread will work out for me. TY again.

Hello, it is a type of thread, a fishing line really, used for beading. Just type "Fireline beading thread" in a browser like Google and you'll see what it is.

Hi Betty Carter, I just watched this video last night and was wondering the same thing, she said it was Fireline, that's a brand of beading thread I found out from Google, so not very helpful as they have many types of thread. However, the "black thread" she used was made out of very thin wire, she took the wire and she used plyers to flatten out the wire. I asked my Dad if he had any thin wire that would fit thru a needle, he went in his stuff and cut open an electrical wire and inside it's made up of thin wires, I cut one of those off with regular scissors and I was able to slip it thru the eye of the needle no problem. If you don't know anyone who is a handyman and has a container of junk wires, then even easier just go to the dollarstore in the craft section they often have bendable wire, also look in the handyman section and the fishing section for spools of very thin wire and any of those should do the trick. However, in my searching last night I came across a needle with a collapsible eye hole, I don't know if they are any good, but from the picture of them it looks like you could easily slip an elastic string thru the eye no problem. Here's the info for them, again I saw them on amazon: Brand: Beadalon. Product name: Collapsible eye needles. If you end up getting some can you let me know in a reply if they worked please. I'm just going to stick with the wire trick since it costs us nothing!! Hope this helps and hope you are doing well.

spoozee Hey! I did indeed try the large eye, curved needle. Works perfectly. My only problem is that depending on the size of the bead it is hard to pull through. So far, this is only an issue with 12/0 seed beads. I’m knee deep in experimenting with beading wire... new frontier for me LOL
