This seems to be a great machine that people would be interested in. Many of whom may not live close to a distributor. It baffles me why you would want to limit access and sales because of the contract agreement you have with your distributors which does not allow them to quote a price over the phone but rather expect someone to drive several hours to find out if they can even afford this machine not to mention limit or deny online purchase access.

A demo on any machine is easy when using a stiff woven fabric. Why not demo the Double Sided Cover Stitch using an athletic knit and stitch it out on top of a seam allowance? That is the type of fabric/location this stitch was designed for. The Double Sided Cover Stitch is the one feature that sets this machine apart from all other CS machines on the home market at this time.Thanks for the threading demo. If I decide to buy this machine, I'm sure I will be referring back to this video.

This was so much help. I am having an issue getting my triple top cover stitch to work. My top cover thread keeps getting pulled down by the right needle and then it doesn’t catch on the little hook, please help!

I have threaded the machine, thanks to your very clear video, however, when I started sewing, after the first couple of manual stitches, all three needles snapped! I don't know what I have done wrong.... and I don't know how to replace the needles now 😞

It would be great if all tutorials were as excellent as this one. Thank you for having close-up views and repeats for the threading process. Do you have any recommendations as far as purchasing extra presser foot kit?

Hello, do you know how to change the bulb? What type of led bulb is required? I need a stronger one. Thanks.

We apologize for any inconvenience. If you are needing to change or replace the LED light in the CV3440 or CV3550, we would recommend contacting a Brother Authorized Service Center in your area for more information: www.brother-usa.com/dealer-locator

Have you tried Pearl crown rayon in the looper to do a chain stitch? I can't get my tensions right I guess, because mine looks horrible!
@judykski49165 жыл бұрын
Jani is referring to Pearl Crown Rayon, a type of thread manufactured by the YLI Corporation, not rayon fabric. A spread of 2 to 4 is a pretty wide range when it comes to tension.

Hi Angela. I have the Brother Project Runway, my question is should I keep the tension knobs all to (0) for threading. Thank you.
@AngelaWolf6 жыл бұрын
Leave the tension settings at the standard 4, no need to lower the tension setting on this machine - simply raise the presser foot handle and all the tensions release. One of my favorite features :)

I have access to two of these machines, both new and threaded properly for the 3 stitch cover stitch - that stitches with a row of 3 stitches visible on the right side. Both machines will stitch for about 5 inches then the thread in the left most needle breaks and it continues to stitch as a 2 thread narrow stitch. I have searched for troubleshooting this problem but can't find anything at all. Do you know why this is happening and how to correct. I really want to love this machine but because I can't use the third needle I am not loving it yet. Thanks for any help.
@designbysue6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for replying but it is not the needle that is breaking (see original post) it is the thread.

I bought Brother CV3550 cover stitch. I was watching you video very carefully and followed same way how to finish and lock the stitches. But every time when I finish my stitches and tried to pull the fabric from back it doesn’t come loose at all. To loose the fabrics from underneath foot I have to open front cover and pull side my looper and then I can loose the fabric out. I have to do this every time and my stitches keep breaking. Can you advice or any suggestions to prevent this step? How can I do easy Coverstitch? I am so frustrated that all money I have spent to buy this Coverstitch gone into drain. Can you please help ?

Did you ever get this solved?? I don't have this machine, but on my coverstitch machine, I need to release the loopers, meaning I turn the handle wheel to the lowest position, that is the needles are in the lowest position. Then I turn the hand wheel towards myself and put the needles in the highest position. I actually put some tape on the handle wheel to mark where the needles are highest and lowest, so this is a fast step. In my head I think, "Go low, go high". The I pinch the threads and pull towards the back left of the machine, and the fabric is released. Hope this helps.

Buy from Mulqueen's - they are very customer service oriented. I bought my Juki serger and my Brother Top Coverstitch machine from them and they are great! (fyi: I don't work for them and haven't received anything from them for a good review :) I just really like this company and staff!)

I went to my local brother dealer and this machine was $1400. Why?? Seems a little too high. Why is the brother coverstitch cv2340 only $312 on Amazon ?
@judykski49165 жыл бұрын
The Brother 2340CV does not have the Double SIded Cover Stitch which accounts for the difference in price. The Brother 3550CV is a more advanced CS than the 2340CV.
