Just got a new Juki Serger. I have a lot of patience to learn a new machine. But, this threading guide printed on the loop cover was confusing as was the manual. Thank you for posting this. You truly showed how to thread this machine.

I thought I was going to have to sell my Juki serger, simply because of the threading..I even thought about hiring a person to help me thread it..I have not actually followed along, yet, as my serger is in another room. BUT, I can see this video will most probably be all that I need. Thank you so very much for taking the time to make this video for us..I don't suppose an average person could thread it without this kind of help! Blessings to you

Thank you for your helpful tutorial. I am proof that you can teach old dogs new tricks. I got my first serger 40 years ago (Juki MO 64 ) and it was so easy to use and finally it gave up after many years of heavy use. I got a MO- 644D in 2004 and mistakenly thought I knew how to thread it even though I had the manual. It has not been used. Now 16 years later, I came across your tutorial. WOW! Thank you sooo much!

Your video was a huge help to me. I read the manual, looked at the diagram & the machine & KNEW I needed more help than the manual & its black & white picture could provide. I stumbled on your video & am do thankful that I did. I've only had my serger a couple of weeks & am still watching your video every time I change my thread. It's getting much easier but I still need the assurance of hearing you tell me what to do. Thank you for a great video!

You have done an amazing job with this video!

This video I’m sure helped a lot of serger users in threading their machines. One of the most important thing to remember is why youre threading the upper looper 1st. It is because the lower looper thread goes over the upper looper thread. The diagram on the facing/front door shows that as well. The 1st front facing guide at the top of the machine is also an open guide and doesn’t need to be threaded, just slipped into place twice. If anyone bought their Juki brand new, there is a dvd video that came with it and several manuals as well. I know this was made about 4 years ago, so maybe what I’m saying is moot. But someone once said, or maybe several times, that the most important thing we can do when buying a sewing machine or even a sergers is to read the manuals that come with it. I ordered my Juki online and it came with a bunch of other feet as well as the dvd and all the tools you need for your serger..play with your serger, learn to use the other attachments, and remember to test sample each time you make adjustments before sewing your project. And one last thing, it mentioned in the video to thread your serger over and over again until it becomes second nature to threading it.
@handsathome4 жыл бұрын
I’m glad yours came with the manuals and DVD to show you how to thread your machine. Some of us aren’t that fortunate. We either got it used without a manual or need a little more than a manual to understand and figure out the process. Thanks for stopping by. Happy Serging! ☺️

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this video. Your calm voice, with the positive and pleasant instructions made me feel as if I could do this & I did. Of course now I need to move on to the next step and that is actually sewing with it. I can not tell you how much I appreciate being able to see each and every step. OUTSTANDING video tutorial of threading the Juki MO644D! I got this serger today on Amazon and right out of the box I set it up and followed Sew Fanny's instruction and threaded it correctly on the very first try. This woman's video made something that looked incredibly confusing so easy! Good job and I really appreciate the time you put into making this, you have no idea. I'd never seen a serger little lone operated one before. Thank you so much!

Like you, it was my first serger and I couldn't find a video that properly showed how to thread it. It is not difficult to master and I want everyone to see that! The fear of threading a serger shouldn't exist! I will be making new videos soon, simple things like changing a needle, differential feed, presser foot pressure. Thank you for watching! Happy serging!

This video was so helpful. Would not have done it right without your instruction. I have the model 654DE which when threading the #2 looper is made easier by a lever that flips the thread guides into view. No more passing the thread through to the other side. I wish they made it easier to thread those tiny holes in the needles, gets harder the older you get.
@handsathome7 жыл бұрын
Shirley Kennedy I worry about how I will manage later. I already have terrible vision, I have to wear my glasses 24/7, well, except when I'm asleep of course. ;) I've seen these huge magnifying glasses that you can attach to your desk and just swing it over when you need it. I'll probably have to sew with that! Haha. Happy Serging!

I also have the newer model. When I was at the sewing store the ladies were trying to show me how to thread it...by passing the looper threads through the bottom. Another lady there was able to show me the flip lever. It makes things a lot more convenient.

I just want to tell you thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this video. It is so easy to follow. It seems all the videos are for newer or fancier machines. You have the only videos for this model. I could not thread my machine without watching your instructions. You are an angel!! Im new to sewing and would like to request videos on how to use different pressure feet. I can’t seem to find any compatible videos for this model. I would love a universal blind hem pressure foot but I don’t think they make one for this machine. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!

Thank you for your sweet post. 😊 I'm self-taught and STILL learning. Unfortunately, I do not have any recommendations for you. However, if you have a sewing machine dealer or quilt shop near you I would recommend going in there and asking. I have learned so much from going into those places and asking questions. The owner of the sewing machine dealer near me showed me how to achieve a coverstitch hem on knits by using my serger and a double-needle on my sewing machine. I was in there looking at coverstitch machines, but told her I couldn't afford any of their machines. And she explained the whole process. So, don't be afraid to reach out to them.

amber edwards haha! Right!?! That was a priority. I searched a high and low for a video where I can actually SEE how to do it, but couldn't find one. Too many hands in the way. I figured there may be more people out there in the same boat so I made a video to help the lost and confused. Happy Serging!

Just received my serger yesterday. It’s my first so this video was helpful is setting it up. Think this serger can do a coverstitch? I can’t seem to find a video that explains it.
@handsathome5 жыл бұрын
@@n.norris Congrats on the new serger! I use my serger more than my sewing machine. However, in this season of life I haven't used either one. Too busy with my little ones. :) This machine does not have the capabilities for a coverstitch. I do a "faux" coverstitch by serging the edge of my fabric, create the hem and sew over it on my sewing machine with a double needle. It is a bit more work, but if like me, you don't have the $$$ for a coverstitch machine this gets the job done! Hope that helps.

Nice presentation. I wonder why the instructions do not have the first step for threading to have the presser foot in the raised position. This would open the tensions so there isn't any resistance when bringing the thread through the machine.
@handsathome8 жыл бұрын
Good point, although I like to tug at the thread a bit after passing it through the tensial dials to test the tension to make sure the thread is between the tension disks. I wondwr if leaving the presser foot raised would still give me this confirmation. I'll have to see the next time I thread. After you thread each looper and needle the manual does state to pull the thread towards the back of the machine and bring the presser foot down over the thread. It is also easier to thread the needles if the presser foot is down.
