These bud vases are thrown 8oz, but you can use the same basic skills to make any size you wish !
I would recommend making at least 10 at a time of these as a 'practice run'.

I'm making jugs so I just reviewed a number of your bottle jug and bud vase videos. You've made quite a few of these over the years. Nice job here with the close up and breaking down step 5 and 6 into there not so easy multiple stages.

You could call them bud vases or aryballos, which is what the ancients use to use for ointments and oils they would bring to the bath houses.

This is really great! How do you turn them afterwards though, with the top being so thin? I always turn my vases upside down to turn the bottoms but this would fall over!

Thank you Simon, I tend to get that crimping on the surface of the stoneware clay, when I bring the clay in, it's been well wedged & I don't have this problem with Porcelain, as it's so much more elastic 😊

Do you have a favorite clay body to use?

The clay I use here is - standard 306. Its not my favourite, but its the nicest I can by that is convenient to where I live.
