Surprised that lower body mechanics were not included. With forehand and backhand, one should be pushing with their leg opposite their throwing arm with the throwing side leg acting as a brace. The opposite is true when throwing a hammer; one should push off of their throwing side leg and using the opposite leg as a brace.

If I throw a hammer and it lands as a blade or close to, does it mean I didn't angle it enough during the throw or am I lacking spin?

Interesting question. Some trying to answer those lead us to understand better what we do. I can master a lot of type of hammers since long but do I really understand everything why it works? Not sure! If I saw what you throw, then I can more easily answer to achieve a goal. Now, if I was to answer fast, I would say that there are multiple variable. Fast fast, if I assume you have a good spin, then I would say you just choose an angle that make it be a blade. Now, personally, when I want to have more distance, I throw it more vertically and with less angle and lot of spin. But still I don't throw it with "no angle", I just make the angle more narrow, throw it really high, and put lot of spin because I want it to travel further... and since there is more distance, eventually the small angle take expansion and expand to get the form I want to land more flat or vertical (i.e., not bladey). Now if I take your question, what would happen if I don't put enough spin/power? Maybe with less spin/power then it will travel less and so if I do the more vertical form I describe, chance are it won't have the time for the curve to take as much expansion as I tried to describe just before, so maybe that will result in one that look more bladey. So we have to take in consideration the speed/spin/power, the height we throw it, the distance, and also the two angles that Rowan talk in his video (the path you follow, but also the angle of the disc when it leave you, recheck the video where he shown this if my words are not clear). So with me thinking out loud, if I had to bid on a conclusion, I would say a it depends and probably both variables can influence if your hammer is good or end up more bladey even if you did not want that to happen. Hope that help us navigate to toward the truth for your question. It makes a while I have not thrown an hammer as we are all locked down and stuff, so I only tested this in my head while being a keyboard warrior in my basement, eh.

Is 4v4 on very small field format widespread? Here in Quebec, we got a very well organized circuit (mostly for non-summer seasons / winter). Without knowing, I was under the impression that it may not be a format as much adopted elsewhere, so I'm curious how it is elsewhere for that format.
